How would the Sound 4 have Improved into Shippuden?

See, many don't realise quite how young the monstrous Sound 4 were. All horribly matched and defeated by personality flaws / bad pacing in the plot, these kids were only slightly older than Naruto's year, Kidomaru was basically the same age as Neji.

Yet they had access to such broken techniques. They were chunnin ninja with a Low Kage level tech each, techs that were so broken Kabuto Sage Yakushi personally infused them into his own body. Kidomaru's Gold Armour allowing him to defeat a certain Akatsuki member low diff, Jirobo at physical strength surpassing Ay & Tsunade and Tayuya's Genjutsu effectively being used on Itachi & Sasuke. A paralysing attack that would've defeated either had it been a 1V1.

So can we imagine upgrades, different jutsu or ways these characters could've developed just like Team 7 & the K11 got to do? What would've been their potential as adults?

It's difficult to say, but they certainly had a large amount of potential given how faithful he was towards them in spite their young age. With more time to hone the Cursed Seal and develop their abilities, they could've easily been above most Elite Jonin if not, even stronger because as you said, Kabuto revered their abilities and integrated them into his fighting style which were brought to fruition against Itachi.

It's insane because even as they are they each have one arguably low Kage ability each. They were let down by character flaws (playing with their food or smugness) the WORST. TERRIBLE. MATCHUPS. (honestly, imagine anybody else against Kidomaru's webs) and inexperience. They were defeating Chunnin & Jonin ranks.

Jirobo's strength feats don't compare to Tsunade's. And Tayuya's genjutsu wouldn't have defeated either Sasuke or Itachi, because they were still able to use jutsu.

Alone, they would've used Susano'o to block incoming attacks, and by having a good ol' slash around, forced Kabuto to take his attentions off the genjutsu.

Their best attacks were B-Rank (High Chunnin to Low Jounin level) and considering their age, they weren't that impressive. They would've been stomped out had they lived to Part 2.

They don't? Jirobo was shown being able to lift and throw something the size of a small mountain with just one hand wasn't he?

If that's not physical strength then i'm unsure what is.

I also really disagree. Even the ignored K11 gained new techniques and flourished into talented Jonin, the Retrieval Squad WERE weaker than the Sound 4.

They got blessed with perfect matchups and had to resort to suicide strategies to defeat ninjas with stronger strategies and bigger scale jutsu. If they grow, the Sound 4 grow too.

They would have to agree with this. They would have been slaughtered by Sasuke and Itachi, assuming the outcome would be the same.

they barely managed to defeat 2 fodder jonins who knew nothing about their abilities with their curse level 2. they even mentioned that they were lucky and didnt dare to attack kakashi for example... they werent bad of course. but they werent that great either.

except for kimimaru maybe, that guy ways a above the rest, but he was super sick as well so...

i would say if the sound 4 (plus kimimaru) lived for part 2 they would have surely been above the average konoha 11 (like way above the likes of tenten, hinata, kiba, ino, choji) level but certainly not on zabuza or akatsuki/kage level except for kimimaru but i think neji, lee and sakura would still kick their asses low to mid diff.

as for their potential, as i said, of course they would be above average, but still no match for the likes of lee or neji or sakura...

Nope, they were 14-15. They just look older, even Kimimaro was just 15 years old.

Itachi and Kakashi's jonin rank is largely because they graduated during desperate war eras. Neji, Gaara, Lee, Sasuke & Naruto were all worthy of the same and were way above Genin from graduation. These ninja ALL advanced and developed their skills like crazy, clearly as a result so would these ninja.

If we're talking about the same instance then it was 2 Jonin and a bunch of Chunnin ninja in that platoon.

Oo remember how a bloodlusted Sasuke got one-shotted by Sakon & Ukon? I'm not trying to say they'd all by High Kage level but if Sasuke Retrieval Squad upgraded so much and Hebi Sasuke, Jugo, Suigetsu and other Shippuden sound nin were all so powerful naturally, it bears mentioning that so would these kids that held a lot of promise.
