How would Gaara fair against Sasori instead of Deidara at the beginning of Shippuden?

I believe Gaara would do well against Sasori then he would Deidara solely because of Gaara ability to fly while still having his sand attack Sasori and the same time stay out of reach of his puppets and poison

I wasn't thinking this too, but given where the fight took place (over the sand village) Gaara has a whole lotta sand to fortify his defenses against the iron sand. not sure how well Sasori could control that iron sand though. Using the puppet plus trying to use the puppets iron sand to carry him around as well as attacking and defense might be a little taxing for Sasori.

What I'm curious about is if the iron sand would act like Rasa's gold dust since its heavier... In which case Gaara might have a harder time.

I think Gaara would have the upper hand when fighting with Sasori.
Gaara has so many techniques that can block Sasori's puppet weapons.
Like:

Also, Gaara can avoid the attacks because of his flying sand Nimbus whatever

But I also think Sasori can counter these defenses with his 3rd Kazekage's puppet's irons sand to cut those defenses.

But then again. Gaara can harden his sand with the nutrients in the soil as mentioned in his fight with Kimimaro Which can also block

Gaara spanks, as he would've to Deidara if he hadn't needed to protect his village. Gaara is near perfect in countering both of the Akatsuki's arsenals.

Levitation & Sand bodyflicker speed > C0

Sand > Sasori's Iron Sand manipulation (note I said Sasori's)
Sand > Puppets
Levitation > harder for melee/short-mid range poison attacks to hit
Sand > Iron Sand durability wise. Iron Sand got stopped by a mere chakra shield, Gaara's sand took on 4-5 Susano'o slashes.

He'd probably be able to take them both on in a desert, without any restrictions honestly...
