Initially I thought Madara was planning to capture everyone in the genjutsu by simply reflecting his sharingan onto the moon casting a giant sharingan in the sky which people would look at, putting them under the genjutsu.
But recently Hagoromo stated that the Shinju's roots will grab and force people to assimilate with its body, leaving them in a catatonic state where they'll be subjugated by the genjutsu.
So far, Madara has reflected his sharingan onto the moon which could mean he's planning to control the world by sight.
But if Kishimoto decides to go ahead with the roots and assimilation concept, then could the moon light or something related to the moon force the roots to capture every living being with chakra and carry out the mission of placing them in the genjutsu?
