I had an idea the other day, that all money donated to political figures by lobbyists or by large organizations should be deducted from said political figure's personal salary. This means that people who accept money on the behalf of people or organizations that have a net worth of over 5M$, or a donation that exceeds .5M$ should have the money taken from personal accounts, meaning that the political figure essentially pays out of his/her own pocket. Obviously people accept bribes with the intent on gaining money, not losing money. Theoretically, if enforced properly, it could end a lot of political corruption, as well as ensure that elected representatives truly represent the people and not the moneyed interests. Or we could make lobbying and 'donations' illegal. That could work too. And don't say that people need the support of the rich, if the people really want you in office, they will donate their (small) share to your campaign, and then we won't have a bunch of unlikable idiots winning elections simply because they have millions of dollars to throw around to make people believe their lies.

I don't know about all you readers, but I live in America and I'm sick of listening to these rich fatcats shoving lies down the common man's throat by buying out all the news and broadcasting with their big money. There is very little "free press" in America. It's a miracle that Obama got elected in the first place... I hope the American people wise up for once and put their foot down and demand to have a TRUE DEMOCRACY. Real elections. With people who Really care.
