How was the original shipping wars

Were there ever a big amount of people who shipped sakura and naruto

Or was sasuke and sakura, and hinata and naruto the main ships.

Naruto and Sakura alongside Hinata and Naruto were simultaneously the biggest ships of team 7, but Temari and Shikimaru seemed to be considered confirmed already. Anyone who wanted a ship with higher standards jokingly shipped Naruto and Sasuke though.

The manga always pointed to Naruto and Sakura or Sakura and Sasuke. Hinata only became a thing later in the movie. There were several BS scenes in it forcing us to accept NaruHina. Naruto never acknowledged Hinata's feelings in the manga.

They were pretty one sided. NaruHina dominated without even losing even one member from its ship.
