How was Madara able to travel to Kamui?

I might be wrong, but didn't the viz translation specify Obito couldn't use his fazing ability as a Juubi Jin rather than Kamui as a whole? Like, he couldn't be at two dimensions at once?

Correct, Obito stated his couldn't phase while Madara only utilized his Teleportation Jutsu.

well while phasing is simply just teleporting a certain part of ones body, you'd think it all the same.

with the juubi, think of it as being in an invisible tank but that tank is sentient and fights you.

unless you teleport the entire thing as a whole, more like forcing it into the wormhole, it can resist a rather small one that only transport a certain part of its body.

think of forcing someone to put their limb into a small hole, they will be able to resist.
however, if you shove them into the chasm or a rather big hole, they will less likely be able to resist.

It definitely is a plot no jutsu for both Obito's and Madara's cases and there's really no point to explain but if you really wanted an explanation, there it is.

Simply couldn't pass through things.

Might be the same ability but 2 different functions so it probably had to do with the way phasing works. The part of your body that overlaps with something else gets sent to the other dimension.

There is one thing I don't understand. I know Madara had Kakashi's MS and that his works differently than Obito. What I don't get is why Madara went into Kamui land the same way that Obito typically does with his MS.
I did see Kakashi return from kamui land after he and Obito had their showdown. Can Kakashi's MS create a portal that he can phase through like Obito?
