If I recall, the whole justification for the technique was that it would last 10 minutes so that Obito's Kamui would run out eventually and it would kill him.

But, uh, couldn't Obito have just Kamui warped OUT of the explosion? Once he's in the Kamui dimension he's free to teleport wherever now.

Seems plot-holey to me.

I think Obito can't use the intangibility and warp at the same time

He can't be in ghost mode and teleport at the same time, he's physical whenever he teleports anyways.

Because he can only phase through objects continously for a total of 5 minutes, so she made such a large chain reaction of paper bombs that the contionous explosion would consecutively continue to happen for more than 5 minutes.

It's the same thing, the teleport is how he goes intangible. Kakashi explains this

I know, that's what I just said.

I'm saying why didn't he just warp back outside of the explosion somewhere?

No whenever he actually teleports he must become tangible first, what about this don't you understand? The jutsu had to have some kinda weak point & Kishi chose that.

If he tries to self warp he will become physical and the paper bombs would get him. It's the same principle as to why he couldn't just self warp away from Madara.

He has to be solid in order for his body to warp away in a strange swirly shape

The intangibility IS the warp. As Kakashi said; "It's one justu"
One technique with 2 different uses, or every time he would try to become intangible he would also warp out of existence.

Because he has to solidify before he can warp away, and the second he solidifies Konan would have blown all that sh*t up.

Konan's jutsu is a jutsu that can explode at all times at anytime around you. So blowing up for 10 minutes straight means that only the body part that was instantly traveled to kamui world first will be safe but the other parts in the real world would be blown up too.
So Tobi used izanagi instead because that jutsu was pretty much designed to kill any thing and anybody that fell into the abyss.
That's why it's S-ranked too.

Except this has been contradicted by the logic of the technique itself. His intangibility is just an extension of his warping; whichever part is about to get hit goes into the Kamui dimension. Thus, if his entire body is covered, his entire body is in the Kamui dimension. At that point, he's already warped into the Kamui dimension via the intangibility.

The question becomes; if he's already completely warped there, why doesn't he warp out somewhere else?

I understand Kishi's explanation, it just doesn't hold up.

> Obito cannot warp himself in that situation, because Konan is physically attacking him anytime he tries to leave.
> While his body can be inside of the Kamui, he can only hold the technique up to a certain limit. Obito's techniques follows as this:
I. Teleporting himself completely to the Kamui, or anywhere really
II. Bringing his boy to the Kamui while leaving an astral projection in his wake.

> He couldn't escape because anytime he warped, the explosions would warp with him, and once his technique gave off she would blow the whole thing to kingdom's come.

Because he wasn't completely warped and would turn solid if he tried to do it. There's difference between going intangible and teleporting somewhere.
First is sending your body to kamui dimension, but you can still see him in our dimension, he's just physically not here.
Second makes him disappear completely, but also turns him solid. It's simple logic, you can't teleport something(Obito's body)that physically isn't there, so he has to become solid to teleport himself.
