How was Edo Madara able to use the rinnegan?

The DNA of old Madara had contained traits of Rinnegan. Kabuto stole the DNA of old Madara, then through unknown means, managed to revive Madara in his young body with Rinnegan.

Its not explained yet so its pointless to speculate something happened long ago.

I think kishi ****s up and hopes we don't catch it. I always wondered how madara mastered the reningan when he awoke it right before he died at what point did he get a chance to train with it. Also we still don't know how he survived the battle.with hasi. This kishi has a lot of holes to patch.

I dont know about that if he implanted them in nagato who used them as a 9 year oldish to kill those ninja in the house. He at least awoke them before jiraiya became minatos sensei and before minato became obitos sensei. So at least 15 years before he died.
I think the end of life thing was unil he gt the mezo to leech off.

What I like most is how Nagato / Obito / Kabuto created about 10 more Rinnegans. 2 for each Pain, 1 for each Jinchuuriki etc. How can you fake a Rinnegan?

Since uchiha are embodiment of yin chakrra and it originates in the brain and they project it through there eyes. Im assuming he channeled it through his body albeit to a lesser degree since he didnt have his eyes. Yin imagination gave form add chakra and you have a susanoo.

Same way Itachi wasn't blind I guess the caster can make each edo a certain way, like how Hiruzen wasn't in his prime which doesn't make sense since Orochimaru would want more power so would have made Hiruzen in his prime.

Edo Tensei revives you with all your original abilities, it doesn't matter if he had the real eyes or not because Edo Tensei would just replicate them, hence the Bijuu's statement about

The fact when he was revived with no eyes only proves that the Rinnegan he had was simply a replication created by Edo Tensei since he lacked his real eyes when he died.
