[Discussion] How u get into One Piece

I'm one who didn't get into the series just because of Marineford (I'm talking you 80% of the fanbase.......jk)

Mostly it was Arlong Park, Alabasta, and the Hype of Luffy, Zoro, and the rest of the Strawhats that got me into the One Piece Greatness


Right now it's #1 on my list next to Naruto








How did y'all get into One Piece ?

Yeah I have tried to get into One Piece a few times as well. But i gave up on it. I couldn't follow it without getting bored. But don't take my word for it. Check it out for yourself and make your own decision.

its idea was original unlike the other showes ,but what really got me into it is luffy's ability it was good to see a main character with such cool ability,also nami being a thieve

I had a a free week of hulu plus and watched Marineford and it was interesting and then i watched the rest of one piece in reverse as odd as that sounds

I started from the beginning with no prior knowledge except that it was like 500+ episodes (at the time). I decided to watch it, but I dropped it around episode 620. It lost my interest.

Personally, I saw the One Piece DBZ Toriko crossover. On that, I saw the first instance of Busoshoku Haki

For some reason, I just really like that. So I started watching One Piece to get to the Timeskip lol. Twas worth it

I decided to give it a shot after finding out how badly 4kids butchered OP. Yes, I watched the 4kids version of OP as a kid, I never knew they were notorious for butchering anime series.

At that time I didn't read manga or watch anime hardcore so after it stopped airing I left it for a long time. Friends recommended it to me in highschool and I finally decided to jump back on. One of my favourite anime/manga now

I've tried multiple times to get into it. I love the characters and there were a few key moments i liked but the story is just a little too slow for my taste. I would recommend it but its just not for me

A friend of mine kept telling me to watch when I was younger, like around 12. I got halfway through the first chapter, and was so bored I stopped. Then, when I was about 14, I started again. After two unsuccessful tries, I saw the One Piece in 6 Minutes video, and watched up until the then-halfway point. I was in love with it, and OP in 10 minutes motivated me to finish it even more so.

I started watching it on Toonami with the 4kids dub and got to Alabasta and a little bit of Skypiea, and stopped watching it because well.....it stopped airing. Started watching and reading other series that were awesome and forgot about it mostly. Then something happened in my life and I needed a good distraction. That's when I remembered that rubber kid and wondered what ever happened to him. I found out the anime was STILL going and was like wth why not, and I marathoned that shit for 2 weeks(back then it was only to the end of Marineford). Never regretted doing it.
