I see so many threads on how this character can beat this character, and such and such. But most of you only count the jutsus. Or the magnitude of the jutsu. But you guys leave out 2 other important factors when determining a powerful shinobi.

Intelligence and experience.

How can people be so foolish as to think Sasuke can beat madara? Im not characters bashing, that was just an example. Sasuke is strong yes, but what he lacks compared to madara is the battle experience. SOmetimes a character doesn need to be stronger than the other ninja, they just need to be more experienced.

That's why characters like minato, itachi and the third hokage are considered really strong, They have power, and intelligence, as well as experience

Another example that intelligence plays an important role is shikamaru. He is not that useful in combat, but, his brain can really really effect a fight. Even Obito said to him that he was a dreadful opponent.

So, when deciding on how strong a character is, take into consideration that characters experience through life, and their intelligence, along with their power.

And don't get this confused thinking im sayng shikamaru can beat naruto or something, im just saying, that the power of the brain, is just as strong as the power of jutsu and chakra.

What do you guys think? Are there other important factors that influence how strong a character can be?

A fact that I'll be following:

Just because Name 1 > Name 2

And Name 2 > Name 3

It doesn't mean that Name 1 > Name 3 - Otherwords, there is always a person that can beat you who failed to the one you won against.

Very true. As tempting as that sounds, it's not correct. For example We can say Sasuke beat Orochimaru, but that doesn't put him ahead of Hiruzen just yet.
OT: Great thread, but you have to realize most people that make those "Sasuke solos all" threads are usually 10-12 year olds...

Exactly! Thus the ranking system that so many people attempt to use is pointless. Too many people assume abilities are linear.
