How to Like?

Hey, I'm new here and I'd like to know how to like / thank someone or is this similar to +rep/-rep?
Sorry if this question was posted somwhere else.. but I searched for "how to like" / "like" and didn't found anything.. ><

You can only like/thank a thread, not someone posting in it, you can only +/-rep them.

there is a star-like thing, click on it and there is approve and disapprove

Is it similar to +rep it?
Because when I click the star there is only approve / disapprove ^^
