I'm stressing out over this situation and I don't know what to do. I've tried asking my friends, but they're all giving me bad advice. To start from the beginning me and this girl met back in high school and we've known each other for 3 years. I knew her because me and her brother were like close friends, but we became cool and started texting each other sometime early this year.

We used to text each other every once in a while and the convos were pretty basic, but she eventually started texting me everyday. I'd invite her to go out with my group of friends and I'd run into her on campus since we go to the same uni. Everything was cool, but then one day we were texting each other on snapchat and out of nowhere she told me that she loved me. I was surprised at first, but then I started thinking maybe she meant it in like friendly way, or not in a serious way, so I responded with a quick "i love u 2', but with poop emoji's. I meant it in a joking way and I didn't make things awkward by leaving her hanging. I switched the subject and I thought everything was cool, but then she started getting serious with me again and she told me that she'd love me forever and she'll always be my one and only. This was 3 days ago and I haven't texted her back since.

Now I'm stressing out because I don't know what to do. She clearly knows I haven't texted her because of what she sent me, and I can't keep ignoring her text cause I'm going to end up seeing her on campus on Monday which is going to be MAD AWKWARD! My guy friends tell me that I should just smash, but I can't take advantage of her like that. My girl friends tell me I should ask her out, but I'm not interested in her. I don't know how to tell her that I'm not interested without crushing her heart, cause I still want to stay friends. Wtf should I do??

Just tell her how your feel, but in a nice way in not to hurt her. You may just want to be friends, but having a girl come out saying they love you is hard to come by so you might just be lucky. Look deep in your heart and decide if you want to stay friends or want to try dating her. If you really don't like her in that way and want to just be friends then just tell her that. Either way, either you or her feelings may change over time so don't make the situation awkward for no reason.

Not the smartest move from you, some people tend to take such things the wrong way. And the way you described the situation and the things she wrote you afterwards, she is either very immature or very crazy. Like "she'd love you forever and she'll always be your one and only."

So, how could you solve this? If I were in your situation, I'd be honest. Just tell her that you didn't mean that "I love u 2" the way she probably took it and that you don't have romantic interest in her. But be polite while doing so. Don't know if a "normal" friendship would work afterwards, that's depending on her and how she deals with this situation.

Just don't use her or lie to her.

Hahaha he last time that happened to me I was chatting with some random girls on the train and when I had to get off one of them asked my number. I wasn't interested but pretended to be, gave my number and later on just said; "Sorry, I didn't want to bring it to you in front of your friends but I have a gf". Always works if they don't know you personally.
