[Question] How the hell do the Captains stand up to espadas 1 2 and 3?

Im up to the part in the anime where Toushiro just froze Espada 3...

And I'm wondering why are the captains so strong? Ichigo in his Bankai form struggled against Ulqiorrah's normal form and Ichigo in his bankai was supposed to be stronger than most of the Captains especially seen as he had been steadily improving over the course of the Hueco Mundo arc.

Ulqiorriah's released state (1st) completely shat on hollowed mask Ichigo as well so why doesn't Espada 3's released state completely rip up Toushiro. Espada 3 should be able to beat Toushiro easily without releasing her sword.

Because ulquiorra is actually the strongest espada. His resureccion segunda etapa was just rediculous. Ulquiorra shits on espada 0, 1, and 3, I'm not so sure about barragan now that I think about it tho

Also First form Grimjow gave Bankai Ichigo a hard time...

Espada 5 almost killed Zaraki.


But Toushiro isn't instantly killed by Espada 3?

Because espada 3 isn't as strong as ulquiorra, and espada 5 was just ruthless in combat, he prolly would tear toshiro a new butthole. Espada 3 is hyped up but doesn't compare to the others IMO. Grimmjow was ichigos first real fight with espada (not counting when he met yammy and ulquiorra back in the day), I don't think he was really expecting how beast they were

Starrk is not just faster, but smarter, more versatile and he has stronger and spammable attacks. Keep in mind he lost to the current head captain. Kyouraku is extremely strong. He is the strongest captain after Yama-jii.

Harriber is also very strong. Toshiro was simply a bad match-up of her, considering ice >> water. But the Espada is still overall stronger.

Lol no captain used bankai on him and without the help of wonderwiess he would have never got past the first two captians. stark is no where near ulquiorra his physical attacks are to weak and lol no stark is not faster than ulquiorra.

Lol starkk never took out ukitake that shows how much you know...yea thoes vizards did not use bankai so they were taking it easy on starkk by not useing their full power..an what does kyoraku being hard captain mean? He only beat stark with shikai cuz he snuck starkk an stab him an made his wolves go away an all he had was two regular swords left over.
