How the hell did the Byakugan even become this weak???

How are they or the Byakugan Weak??? Just because they didn't need to kill family and friends to become stronger? How about the fact 2 Major villages was ready to start war over just one pair? Just because you obviously know nothing about the Byakugan doesn't mean they are weak.

They're just a weak clan like Aburame, Nara, Akimichi et cetera. Nothing special about them, they aren't like the Uchiha or the Senju.

The Byakugan is pretty great at pin point attacks and in taijutsu,but yeah it's the least developed of all the dojutsu.

They werent relevant enough for the plot like uchiha.
They cannot awaken rinnegan, neither indra or ashura likes them

The problem is the powers such as the Sharingan, Sage Mode, Tailed Beast Power, Rinnegan has taken up so much relevance and screen time. So much that it pushes away the overlooked abilities of Byakugan. Same reason why people like the Akatsuki and such are considered weak. They basically got overshadowed.
