As far as I can tell; Kishi wants to tell us that there is a vague concept of Death and Living here. For example, take a soul. The Body dies; but the Soul lives on (Which is used in Edo-Tensei). So, the person is dead but at the same time alive.

Kishi wants to show us that Death is not the end, there is still life beyond and possibilities to explore.
