How strong was Hanzo?

We didn't see his fight against Pain but he said that Hanzo was defeated him because he lost his faith.

Jiraiya didn't belive that someone said him that Amegakure's leader defeated Hanzo by his own.

He won against Jiraiya, Tsunade and Orochimaru without any difficulty and sannins weren't so weak in those times.


What do you think about his power? What he made him so strong?

I think he was extremely powerful, or at least powerful enough to stand against the 3 sannin. He did name the the legendary three sannin anyway. I think most of his abilities but I could be wrong were based around poisons and weaponry and his summoning

I consider him slightly stronger than SM Jiraya, cause I doubt Jiraya would have made that reaction if he though he could beat Hanzo himself.

But it's all a guess really, since we didn't see him at full power at any point in time...

Tsunade is intelligent and strong. :'D Hanzo has hype but in the end he seemed quite pathetic.
Maybe the reason no one could defeat him was because of his excessive security. He was afraid.
