Here i am going to list how each and every akatsuki could possibly deserve a top ten spot, or close to it.
Pain/Nagato- well he already is, lol
Konan- not top ten but imo the strongest kunoichi. Imo she can defeat tsunade. Tsunade has no counter for the vast number of paper, and many of them are paper bombs. She has no jutsu capable of stopping her from changing into her paper as only toad oil can or you have to outlast Konan. Its possible, but i see Konan ending the fight before then.
Obito- Same case as with pain
Zetsu- One of the smartest Shinobi in Naruto, using his clones to go against an army and he has mokuton. Not top ten tho, he wad able to hold his own against the mizukages group, and may I even say win.
Deidara- deidara solos most people with c4. You have to have a doujutsu to be able to see the particles, and then you have to have lightning style. I believe he makes a top ten case. I can argue that he can very well beat orochimaru with this jutsu, as he doesn't have a counter to it. Many people also consider orochimaru top ten. I do not tho.
Sasori- Sasori makes a case for top ten, as many people may have saw negative knights thread about how sasori can beat itachi. He can switch between multiple bodies(to escape amaterasu). He can control iron sand as much as he likes to possibly enter from under susanoo, He can use his 100 puppets to keep itachi busy so he cant use genjutsu. There's much more. If you haven't seen his thread. Go look at it.
Kakuzu- he makes a case for top ten he is made of threads, and has 5 hearts. Many people consider the trollkage top ten. Here's reasons why i believe he can beat the trollkage. His huge wind+fire release can find the clam, also his threads can to. He has lightning release which the trollkage is very weak against. His threads and earth release protect him from joki boy. I think kakuzu is probably the worst match up for troll kage.
Hidan- Not top ten, but immortal, he is the only character in the whole series to have his head cut off(plot), well zetsu clones have to but yeah. Besides that only moves like dust release and amaterasu can defeat him as well as explosions. This being said, he can solo most people in the Narutoverse. I would even put up the argument that he could beat might guy, who is arguably top twenty. Guy would not have an item to chop his head off or destroy him on a molecular level. He's bound to get hit at some point.
Itachi- one of the smartest ninja, people already consider him top ten. I agree, he has amaterasu which one shots almost anybody. Probably the strongest variation of susanoo(totsuka and yata) along with a tsukyomi which is unbreakable.(but if broken by someone like bee, remember, it probably takes him 5 seconds to brake it which is several hoursin tuskyomi, this will leave him exaughsted and pretty much defeated)
Kisame- Has a sword which counters almost all ninjutsu (fire being excluded) he has huge water release which will deal with any fire(besides amaterasu) and im going to tell you why he can make top ten. I believe kisame> km naruto, which people consider top ten. I'll even say kisame> bm naruto. While fused with samaheda he can tank almost every ninjutsu. INcluding rasengan. While he has his water dome up, he is undoubtedly faster than naruto in the water. He can make multiple sharks to also attack naruto. With naruto having these distractions kisame can come within contact with him and start draining his chakra. Kisames huge shark thingy can counter narutos tbb and just make it more powerful. This shark alone can handle naruto.
Well i have told you guys how 8 of ten akatsuki can make top ten. I even gave explanations as to how they can beat people which you members place in top ten. If you disagree that's okay. I just wanted to give you an idea to how strong they really are.
