"That jutsu has an odd description."

Mangetsu holds his hand out... like a sword and gathers raiton chakra into his hand. He pushes the chakra out, shaping it to make a yellow light around his hand. He then gives this chakra the properties of lightning and sends out several bolts of lightning at all the targets, in the shape of a horn.

"Advantages would be that it's quick and stupid simple straightforward. Also if you ever lose your flashlight then it is very helpful."

"Disadvantages would be that it is just so simple I guess."

"Nice sword, I have one too remember? :'("

"Let's see, you probably think I'm going to slice the table in half or something don't you." :'(

Mangetsu unravels the bandages from his sword, hiramekarei and holds it in front of himself. Mangetsu builds up raiton chakra and moves it into the sword. He shapes the chakra into lightning and manipulates it so that it raises into the air along with the sword. He then makes the chakra split to create two clones of the sword. After that he makes the three swords spin in the air until they become blurred. Mangetsu sends the three spinning vertically at the watermelon slicing it into neat little pieces. However Mangetsu isn't quite a master at raiton and the swords are very big and heavy, Mangetsu inevitably turns the table into a pile of little strips of wood.

"Advantages and disadvantages are like that of puppetry. The swords are possibly harder to avoid however the user can't even use something like chakra sensing and is an easy target."

As the watermelon slices on the broken table turn into pieces of mud, Mangetsu pulls a watermelon out from behind his back, placing it on a tree stump and cutting it into slices with Aigis' sword.

Hiramekarei? Where did Mangetsu get that sword from? Aigis watched as he skillfully destroyed the watermelons... not to mention the table. She had to remember she was dealing with one of the swordsmen of the mist.... the most fearsome of them, no less. But his attitude didn't really seem to fit him; well, never judge a book by its cover, that was the adage.

Picking up a neat slice of watermelon, she bit into it. It was a hot day, and the cold, refreshing fruit quenched her hunger and thirst. Fruits were just generally awesome like that. She spoke in between bits of watermelon.

-munch- "This technique is the final C-rank technique." -munch- "Manipulate your Raiton chakra to generate lightning bolts that gather around your forearm. Slam your plam into the ground..." -munch- "... and discharge these lightning bolts into the ground. They'll then fire outward in a radius around you up to short range. A nice area of effect attack."

"Hit those targets..." -munch- "That are arranged in a circle over there."

The watermelon was pretty good.

Mangetsu jumps into the middle of the targets and gathers raiton chakra into his hand. He gives it the qualities of lightning and shapes it so it appears as bolts of electricity traveling around his arm. He then slaps the earth, sending the lightning bolts from the ground in all directions around him zapping the targets.

"Advantages... quick, good against doton and people not in the middle of attacking you at close range."

Disadvantages... only gets the ground to short range.

Mangetsu cuts a watermelon for himself.

"Lightning is actually one of the shorter elements. Like I've already iterated, a life of a shinobi is not one without hard work and dedication. But I'm sure you know that already." Aigis said, giving a small, encouraging smile.

"Let's begin with the B-ranks, then. The first one has you performing the Ox hand seal. Then, hold out your hands in front of you, and release your lightning chakra in front of you. By applying your shape manipulation, you'll form a large lightning wall that will protect you from frontal attacks. If enemies come close or come into contact with it, they'll experience something... 'shocking'. Ah, apologies, that was a bad pun."

"What do you think this jutsu can specifically defend against? Give me ranks and elements."

Aigis nonchalantly tossed a few kunais at Mangetsu, as a concrete example of how to defend himself with this technique.

Once that was done, Aigis moved right along. Taking a momentary water break, she then turned to the Hozuki and spoke again.

"And now, you'll create a half dome of lightning in front of you, applying the same principles as the Lightning Wall. Except this time, instead of holding the dome in front of you, you'll push it forward like a wave of lightning. This one's pretty fast and it can push away annoyances, as well as paralyze and annoy your enemy."

Mangetsu performs the hand seal and gathers raiton chakra. He releases the chakra in front of himself and shapes it into a wall of lightning while holding his hands out. This wall of lightning deflects the kunai and disintegrates any bugs in the air.

"So I suppose it follows the normal elemental rules like being able to block A-rank doton and C-rank fuuton as well as B-rank for the others. It can block A-rank of advanced elements and stuff like lava. It only blocks stuff right in front of it."

Mangetsu gathers raiton chakra in his body. He then shapes it into a half dome of lightning which he moves forward abruptly until it fades away. He uses this dome to zap a leaf floating in the air lazily.

"I really like this one first of all. I suppose it can't intercept continuous type of attacks but it is a quick way to defend against something. I'm sure that the physical knock back is helpful and not just against tai. Too bad it's short range though."

"The interaction between fire and lightning is the one I find most interesting. Neither one can be considered one of the three states of matter, so when they clash, it's two forms of physical energy simply hitting each other. I suppose it depends on the techniques used... some fire and lightning jutsus are considered 'more solid' than others, so make of that what you will."

"For this one, you'll basically gather your Raiton chakra around a closed fist. Use your shape manipulation to condense this into a sphere of lightning. If you punch a target with this fist, the sphere will discharge and cause an electrical explosion. Nothing overly complex."

"Try it on this watermelon. It should explode, I think..."

The strikes are fast and occur almost immediately after the discharge is sent up into the sky, so be sure to know where you're aiming before using the jutsu."

"I've set up a few targets around you; be sure to try and get them all."

All around Mangetsu, there were small disc-shaped targets to hit; five in total. Two were behind him, and three were in front of him.

Description: The user will raise his hand or a weapon and send an electrical discharge into the clouds, allowing them to create lightning strikes in the desired location. The discharges are triggered right after the technique and cannot be delayed or prepared before hand but are quite fast.

Mangetsu holds his fist straight out in front of himself. Mangetsu creates raiton chakra and channels it into his fist which he then shapes into an orb of lightning around his hand. Then, pulling back his arm, Mangetsu lunges forward and punches that watermelon right in da face.

"It's like taijutsu but it's not, cool!"

"Ok let's see. Advantages are punch em in the face. You can't block it with freeform right? Puts pressure on the opponent better I guess."

"Disadvantages are that you have to get right in to use it of course."

After looking around at all the targets Mangetsu raises his arm up above his head, holding a blade of grass and creates raiton chakra. He then shapes it into a great bolt of lightning which he sends through the blade of grass and up into the air. Mangetsu splits the lightning into six separate bolts of lightning which rain down, five hitting the targets and the last one hitting a mosquito.

"Advantages are that you can hit multiple targets as long as you know where they are. I guess I'd use it with the rain tiger at will jutsu or hidden mist. Would that work well? And how would you counter it?"

"Disadvantages, I'm not sure. Wish it was long range though."

Aigis watched Mangetsu's bravado. He had quite a humorous personality. The blade of grass on the second technique was a nice touch. She smiled out of the corner of her mouth; a small one.

"I believe you cannot counter the first technique with free-form taijutsu; in battle, always counter a jutsu with a jutsu. That's the rule in almost every situation and context."

"Weave the Ram, Boar, Dog, Bird, and Hare hand seals, while molding Raiton chakra and releasing it through the ground. This lightning will displace the earth and forcefully shape it into four pillars around a target- in this case the Shadow Clone I'll create. These pillars will surround your enemy and subsequently release lightning attacks that will essentially 'screw them over', for lack of a better term."

"The range of this jutsu is excellent, although he pillars are large and conspicuous, which makes them somewhat easy to see and counter. You can even trap things like summons."

"This current can be discharged in two ways; an unfocused wave, or through a conductive material for a more focused attack. If you combined this with a water technique, you'll add extra damage."

"If you have any Suiton techniques, I want you to perform this in a combination with one. If you don't... simply fire this jutsu at the lake over there. Maybe we'll get a few fishes for lunch. Good range."

Description: After doing the Rabbit → Dog → Boar → Ram → Rat hand seals, the user generates a large amount of lightning from their hands, which can then be either released in an unfocused manner or passed through conductive materials to improve the electrical power of the technique, namely in conjunction with Water Techniques. In fact, certain users have showed that its possible to, if the user has the ability to mold both Water and Lightning chakras at the same time (for example, Darui who has Storm Release), unleash this particular technique at the same time as they exhale/spit some water technique (which needs to consist of a stream of water), combining both in a seemingly consecutive move. Other ninjas will need to use a clone or an ally for the same effect.

"Now, we come to a very important distinction we have to make here, Mangetsu. There are jutsus you can 'spray and pray' without a second thought, versus techniques that require a focused stream and chakra input to maintain. Besides the differences in usage, can you give me advantages and disadvantages of each style?"

Mangetsu performs the hand seals and gathers raiton chakra. He shapes the chakra so that it moves through the ground and gathers around to make four pillars of the earth underneath the clone which he uses the chakra to rise up, emerging from the ground. He then shapes the chakra into lightning which leaves the pillars to electrocute the clone, bypassing the armor's raiton resistance. :devil:

"It's an indirect attack which is always good. It gives warning though."

Mangetsu uses the tiger hand seal and gathers suiton chakra into a puddle to form a water clone rising up from the ground. This clone performs three hand seals and uses suiton chakra to shape a whip of water which he sends wrapping around Aigis' shadow clone. Mangetsu then performs the hand seals and gathers up raiton chakra which he shapes into an arc of lightning jumping from his hands to the clone's water whip and streaming along it to zap the target at the end of the whip.

"Good thing the other thing I'm learning is water. Great for combing with suiton. Only as effective as the suiton though I suppose. Would the raiton cancel out any doton defenses?"

"So with the spray and pray I suppose the advantage is that it's quick to let off and without commitment. It is more easily avoided though. With a stream technique you can always adjust it so that it's harder to counter but to do that you are stuck using that technique. Am I getting at the right thing?"

"Yes, you have the general ideas down. Streaming techniques can have their strength, size, and consistency adjusted with chakra input. Having greater control over such a technique makes them more viable for zoning your opponent. However, in a real battle, you can't perform other jutsus while using a streaming technique, leaving you vulnerable."

"Spray and pray techniques are generally faster, but they can be more predictable. However, they have the advantage over streaming techniques since you can quickly perform subsequent jutsus in combination barrages."

Aigis creates two Shadow Clones in advance, each one to be fodderized by each individual jutsu in the next set..

"Moving on! This jutsu has you clapping your hands together and mold your electrical energy and chakra around you. When you slam your hands on the ground, an electric current will surge through the earth, and when it reaches your target- in this case, my clone, the current will form multiple tendrils, or tentacles, that can attack from multiple angles."

Mangetsu clasps his hands together and gathers up raiton chakra into his hands. He shapes it into lightning surging around his hands. He then gives the ground a slap, sending the lightning rippling forward through the ground to leap at the clone.

"This is like that other jutsu except this doesn't need water as the medium. Instead it requires the ground. It's a good direct attack."

Mangetsu raises his hands in the air as if he does not care and gathers raiton chakra. Mangetsu shapes the chakra into lightning lingering around his hands. After charging up the jutsu with enough power he then unleashes it forward at the other clone.

"I would attack while they charge it up using the awesome lightning banquet jutsu."

"Advantages to the raise the roof jutsu are that once unleashed it is a direct attack I suppose... disadvantages are that it takes time and is too flashy to do something you can easily do with any other raiton jutsu. Although it could possibly be a good bug zapper."

"Perfect. When countering a jutsu, you don't necessarily have to wait for the jutsu to manifest; you can counter the first 'notable offensive action', whether it's the formation of hand seals or the building up of chakra."

Aigis finished up her piece of watermelon and wiped her mouth, and creates two Shadow CLones.

"This one's kind of interesting. Generate Raiton chakra between your palms and apply your shape manipulation to form a lightning whip. It can be used to bind, wrap, and shock your enemy while they're trapped."

"Try it on my clone, and give me a couple of creative uses for whips, other than acting like a..." she kept this last part to herself...

"Oh I see Aigis senpai." :heh:

Wiping any funny ideas out of his head, Mangetsu creates raiton chakra by envisioning the properties of lightning. He claps his hands together and pulls them apart, using shape manipulation to pull the raiton chakra out the palms of his hands and create a sort of whip of lightning by giving the chakra the qualities of lightning. He then whips it around a few times to set it up and then sends it forward to wrap around the clone, binding the arms to the sides. Mangetsu however, unable to handle it, is knocked out, unconscious, falling to the ground with his nose bleeding.

Later as Mangetsu is sitting up with tissues stuffed up his nose, he begins explaining the jutsu.

"Alrighty, examples of use are trapping the target while you use more powerful jutsu. You can also use it like Indiana Jones to swing around and stuff... You can yank weapons and stuff away. Advantages are that it's quick, and it sets up the next move pretty well. Disadvantages are that it's possibly easier to avoid, and it is more of a supportive technique."

Mangetsu stands up and fathers raiton chakra. He shapes the chakra to gather in his hand, giving it the qualities of lightning so that electricity crackles around his hand. He then streams out out in front of himself shaping it into a doge. This doge then gallops forward, leaping at the clone and bites onto its neck while pushing the clone to the ground while rolling around, wrapping lightning around the clone's body.

"This jutsu is quick to perform and you can move it around things to chase after the target. It is hard to avoid. Of course it leaves the user open to attacks. The user is dedicated to performing the technique. This jutsu also gives the target the chance to counter it."

"Excellent, moving right along."

Good, Mangetsu didn't mention anything awkward with the whips. That would have been brought about a strange silence, most likely. She internally sighed with relief.

"This next technique has you molding Raiton chakra in your mouth, and releasing a stream-type, compressed spear of lightning at your target. It's got a lot of piercing power and is incredibly fast, making it a favored move to follow up in a combination. Best when used your opponent is in midair, or if they're trapped in something. Go ahead and aim it at some trees over there, you should be able to pierce through them quite easily."

"This jutsu says you can split the spears to strike multiple targets. I want to give you a quantitative breakdown. If you double the amount of spears that form, you decrease in a rank. So, for example, if you split the spear into two, each spear is C-ranked. If you split it into four, each spear is D-ranked. And eight means each is E-ranked. This applies to ANY splittable technique."

"What would be an advantage of splitting the spears?"

These clones can use basic ninjutsu and taijutsu, as well as B-rank lightning techniques as well. When they disperse and get defeated, they can release a small surge of lightning that may momentarily annoy your opponent, giving you an opening that would be unexpected."

Description: User creates a Shadow Clone of himself but made from lighting chakra. When the clone gets hit he will return to its previous state of pure lighting chakra. The clone has a physical substance and therefor is able to use ninjutsu and taijutsu techniques as well as he has all the normal moves the user has.
Note: Can only use lightning based techniques up to B rank.

Mangetsu faces towards the trees and gathers chakra in his mouth. Molding it into raiton chakra Mangetsu shapes it into a spear of lightning which he guides forward streaming from his mouth. Mangetsu splits this spear so that it branches out into eight which proceed to pierce through a total of eight mosquitos floating lazily in the air.

"Ok, splitting the spears can effect a greater area. It can hit multiple targets. It can attack the same target from different angles I suppose. You may be able to split it to capture someone if they dodge it. Anyway it is long range and quick to execute."

"Disadvantages are that it leaves you open although you could split it to defend yourself as well. It reveals you position of course."

Mangetsu gathers chakra and molds it to create raiton chakra. Mangetsu shapes this into a clone to stand beside him, dividing his consciousness into it. This clone, not fearing any consequences, chases after an Aigis clone with a raiton whip. :snick:

"Uhhh... Well unlike the other clone jutsu, this one can go farther from the user. It allows you to perform multiple attacks simultaneously. You can use them to distract the opponent while the user prepares a finishing move. You can fight the opponent without risk to the user."

"Answering your question, yes, you can form it if your hands aren't free, but you can't perform other jutsus simultaneously while forming the clone. So, for example, I could be holding a sword and in a lock with an opponent, and I could form the clone behind me for support."

"Speaking of swords... use yours and channel your Raiton chakra through it. The vibrating frequency and cutting power of the sword increases exponentially, turning an already lethal weapon into something special. You can cut through Earth like butter..."

Out of nowhere, a huge boulder that's bigger than both individuals suddenly hurtles directly at Mangetsu o___o"

"Ehhhhh?!" Aigis's Shadow Clone heard about her inevitable demise and looked around desperately, trying to find a hiding place.

Description: By Performing the ram hand seal the user will manipulate their chakra and they then raise their hand to the sky and an electrical discharge is triggered shocking the target.

Seeing the giant rock hurtling through the air, Mangetsu drops his heavy sword to the ground, which would have been total overkill to use in such a situation. Mangetsu then pulls a blade of grass out of his sleeve and then starts molding raiton chakra with the sharp and energetic attributes of lightning. Mangetsu channels this chakra, sending it through to his hand. He shapes it so that it surrounds the blade with electricity and gives the blade so much power that it begins ringing with the high frequency vibrations, making it to cut through anything easily. Mangetsu then strikes the giant meteor, cutting it in two like a piece of cake, causing the two halves to fall down to his sides. Like where Aigis is for example.

"I shall name this blade... What would be more fitting, grass cutter or lightning cutter?"

"Advantages are that swords are awesome."

"Disadvantages are that you're busy being awesome."

"Anyway I'd like to point out that it wasn't me doing anything before, it was the clone."

Mangetsu performs the hand seal and molds raiton chakra with the qualities of lightning in mind. He raises his hand up towards the sky and sends his raiton chakra into the sky. Mangetsu manipulates the raiton chakra to create several discharges if electricity in the clouds. A bolt of lightning then comes down to strike the clone, wherever they went.

"I suppose you could counter it when the user raises his hand or the electricity gathers. I'd throw a direct attack at them first I suppose."

"Advantages are that it doesn't require sight."

"Disadvantages are that it's a little slow and predictable."

Aigis dodges the rock.

"I don't mind the humor you use; in fact, it's quite refreshing. However, I do expect legitimate analyses. Do that and we'll be fine. Don't, and well... you can expect to master Lightning in a couple of years."

She said this with a smile that was a little scary.

"Now, use two shurikens, the regular or the Windmill ones, it doesn't matter. Infuse your Raiton into them, and create an electrical cable that attaches to them. By throwing them at your opponent, you can pin them down and channel Raiton through it, numbing and paralyzing them. This leaves them open for a follow-up attack."

Aigis creates a Shadow Clone that just stands there, head tilted.

Description: The user will take out two large shuriken or Windmill Shuriken and channel their raiton chakra into them. They will then throw them at their target to pin them down and maintain a connection with the shuriken through a electrical cable that delivers a numbing shock to paralyse the target and restrict their movements.
Note: Numbing Effect lasts for one turn.

"After that, generate purple lightning and push it forward like a wave in front of you. This can damage and knock away enemies that try and get too close to you. Purple lightning is quite pretty... but this technique only works in short range, keep that in mind."

A second clone of Aigis begins running up to Mangetsu.

Mangetsu starts apologizing when some random guy comes into view from out of nowhere, flying right at Mangetsu. This man stops and sets his left foot onto the ground in front of Mangetsu and swings his right foot up to kick Mangetsu in the jaw, sending him flying off into the sunset.

"Don't worry, he'll be alright. Name's Kazuma. If Mangetsu didn't tell ya, I'll be learning in his place."

Kazuma holds two shuriken in his hands and molds some raiton chakra. He transforms the chakra into lightning which surrounds the shuriken in his hands. He throws the two shuriken, keeping a sort of cable of lightning attaching them to his hands. He pulls on this cable, manipulating the shuriken to twist around and wrap Aigis with the cord of lightning. Kazuma sends a pulse of electricity to electrocute Aigis.

"Advantages are that maybe you could throw them farther apart so that they can't be taken out by the same projectile. They can be used to trap someone or keep them occupied Atleast I suppose. Disadvantages are that it needs to be maintained."

Kazuma molds raiton chakra, gathering it in his hand. He then transforms it into some pretty purple lightning that's sent arcing at the Aigis clone from his hand, sending her flying out a window.

"Let's see, advantages are that it's a quick way to zap something near you. Disadvantages are that if used for attacking the opponent you must be at close range and it's quick but not very deceptive."

"Alright, these are the last two B-ranked techniques. Lightning is fast and easy to finish."

"This first technique has you applying defensive wall principles and creating a lightning wall with your hands outstretched in front of you, except this is a plasma barrier. You'll need to maintain your focus on this wall, but the interesting here is that the jutsu follows you where you move. If you ram an opponent with the wall active, you can use it like a riot shield. Alternatively, discharge the electricity in any direction you choose, creating an energy wave that can hit targets who are close by.

"It lasts three turns, but I believe you can deactivate it by unleashing the wave at any point."

Description: The user manipulating their chakra generates a plasma barrier around them to serve as a defence which protects them from incoming attacks, even from something as wide-ranged as the Quicksand Waterfall Flow. However the user cannot use other techniques besides lightning release or physical based techniques while sustaining the technique. The user can rush at their opponents even if the barrier is active and use it to ram against them. The shield can be used offensively, by discharging the electricity in the direction of their choice in a wave resulting in using the energy of the barrier and ending its effects.
Note: Technique remains active for 3 turns.

"And finally, the last B-rank technique has you manipulating your Raiton chakra and creating a lightning orb in your hands. Release it into the air, and after a few seconds, the orb of lightning will rain down lightning bolts that will hit any enemy in its attack radius. A fast, simple move, and the delayed release can open up a lot of combat options."
