walks up to the training field and sees her student sleeping lazily. Shaking her head slightly, she molds lightning chakra in her pointer finger on her right hand. Touching her student's forehead, she shocks him awake. Nothing too powerful, though.
"Good, you're awake. I'm Aigis the Mandalore, your teacher."
"I hope you had a good nap, because there's no rest for a while."
"Before we continue, let's go over the basics."
"Since you're quite new to this, tell me what a shinobi is, as well as the concept of chakra and ninjutsu."
Her voice was curt and efficient. It was just the way she was as a person.
As Mangetsu has a great affinity to water he is quite shocked by the raiton chakra.

Aigis listened to Mangetsu's explanation. Quite textbook, in her opinion. She did have certain expectations, and he had managed to meet them sufficiently.

"Basically, channel your chakra through your chakra system and into the paper. But before you do that, visualize in your mind what lightning is to you. How powerful, direct, and high in energy it is. Think of its properties and nature... things that our five senses perceive when we think of lightning. Make sure you have a vivid image of what it is. Become one with it in your thoughts, and then, mold your chakra to shape it into lightning, or Raiton, chakra. When you channel your Raiton chakra successfully through the paper, you will cause it to wrinkle, and perhaps even vaporize."

Aigis watched Mangetsu with a strong gaze.
Mangetsu takes the piece of paper between two fingers and focuses on the paper intensely. Mangetsu visualized the crackling of electricity, the speed and power of the energy. He tightens his muscles suddenly, focusing chakra into the paper, trying to bring about the feeling of the raiton chakra, with its high frequency vibrations. However, instead of the appropriate response, the paper only becomes soaked with water.
"I hope those aren't expensive..."
Having tried with four more pieces of paper Mangetsu finally succeeds, making the paper wrinkle, having learned how to feel it through better.
"Alright that was easy. Let's see now. Nature manipulation is what gives chakra certain attributes. Raiton acts differently than other chakra natures. Shape manipulation is where you control that chakra to do something, to do the action. You use it to move the chakra aroundand shape it. The exercise with the paper involves nature manipulation to give it the properties of raiton and shape manipulation to use that chakra on the paper."

Watching as Mangetsu put in his best efforts to try and manipulate the chakra paper, she acknowledged his tenacity. Even if he had failed once, he didn't give up. That was a good quality to have.

Mangetsu goes into the chidori stance with his left hand grabbing his wrist. Mangetsu then spends almost a minute charging up his chakra until some bolts start to travel around his hand. He then makes a slicing motion with his hand through the air and sends the bolts of lightning at the farthest target, barely missing it and going into the ground. After trying it several more times Mangetsu gets the hang of it eventually.
Mangetsu falls onto his back in the grass and sips from his water bottle.
"Geez this raiton stuff doesn't like to cooperate. By the way, is raiton your main chakra thingy senpai?"

Mangetsu performed the first technique in a somewhat dramatic fashion, using the Chidori stance. Interesting. Aigis could see her student's perceived difficulty with Raiton... he was a Hozuki, after all. But this was what training was for; to mold fresh students into effective fighting machines.
"Yes, lightning is quite hard to tame. Remember to always keep your focus and concentrate on bending it to your will with shape manipulation."
"Now, if by 'main chakra thingy', you mean my mastery or specialty... it is not. Raiton is fast and destructive, but I would prefer using elements that are more well balanced. Each element has its own style that few people take advantage of. When you gain real experience, you will know what I mean."
"The next D-rank will have you concentrating your Raiton chakra in your hands. I prefer using my dominant one, but it makes little difference. Slam your hand onto the ground, and channel a surge of electricity through the ground and aimed at your opponent's feet. If you're successful, you'll be able to deliver a shock to them, although it only reaches up to short-range, so be aware of that."

Hearing the challenge Mangetsu gives a toothy grin thinking he has caught on to his senpai. Jumping up from the ground feeling energized he puts his left hand on his wrist focusing the sharp raiton chakra into his hand using the shape manipulation to bring it out, so that it crackles around his hand. Mangetsu suddenly takes his left hand which was concealing a smoke bomb and flicks it at Aigis. Mangetsu then slams his hand onto the ground leading his chakra to leap across the ground in a surge towards his senpai's position. After that he charges up the raiton chakra in his right hand once again and swipes it through the air making the chakra leap through the air to his senpai whom he expects to be emerging from the smoke by now. Mangetsu's arm feels slightly numb from using two raiton jutsu so quickly.

As the smoke bomb explodes at her feet, Aigis doesn't move, instead, she notes Mangetsu's quick thinking. The lightning surge reaches her feet, but her Mandalorian Armor easily shrugs it off, almost absorbing it. The subsequent follow-up lightning bolts hit her body, but they are absorbed as well.
She emerged, wafting the smoke away and coughing a little, but otherwise unharmed. She giggled a little.
"Apologies... I should have told you... my Mandalorian Armor grants me immunity to C-rank or lower Lightning jutsus. But I commend that combination of yours. Fast and easy to execute."
(really, though, it is an ability of the Mandalorians ^^)

Aigis created a Shadow Clone of herself, which hid behind a tree. Mangetsu knew she was behind the tree; Aigis wanted him to try the technique by maneuvering it around the tree to hit her clone.

Same principles as previous techniques, but what's different here is if your opponent or target is on a water source, the damage of the water and lightning techniques both increase, and range can change as well. Try it on my clone who's standing on the lake over there."
She created a second Shadow Clone, and the clone applied chakra on her feet to stand on the lake.
"From now on, I also want you to give me the advantages and disadvantages of each technique. Just tell me what is IMPORTANT... I don't expect essays. If you've got any opinions or questions, ask away."

He places his hand onto his right arm and gathers raiton chakra in his right hand. Mangetsu changes the raiton chakra into a large arc which jumps from his hand, bending around the tree to reach the clone.
"I like that one. Hope that armor works well enough."
"Advantages... this seems pretty good to me. You don't even need line of sight to multiple long distance targets."
"Disadvantages would be that it can't be used without the hand seals."

"To answer your question, I would say the first jutsu in that previous set is better attuned to destroying Earth, since it's more focused, versus the second technique, which is more widespread. Theoretically, you could cause lightning burns to trees... but don't worry too much about that unless you're fighting a Mokuton user."
"Remember, performing hand seals can slow one down in battle, so be prepared to always anticipate and counter a jutsu that forms. Not having to perform handseals, or performing less handseals, makes your combinations and attacks faster."

Aigis waited for Mangetsu to go over the details. Afterward, she spoke again.
"Onward. This next jutsu is... Lightning Armor, for lack of a better term. Mangetsu thoroughly studies the piece of paper and makes an origami shuriken which he throws into a dart board floating in the air.
"Alright I guess I'll just dive into the next jutsu now."
Mangetsu makes a one handed seal, gathering raiton chakra throughout his body. He gives this chakra the properties of lightning and shapes it so that it makes a field of electricity all over his body. As a mosquito tries to land on Mangetsu, it is instantly fried. Having defended against the mosquito's attack, the jutsu automatically deactivates.
"Let's see I'd use it for countering raiton of equal rank quickly and easily. I'd also use it with taijutsu but I doubt I'd need it though. However, because this only does its job against one thing this can be negated with a very weak attack. I also doubt this could even defend against any doton."
"Ah yes the legendary moving cliff. I'm sure it's a giant turtle or something as always."
Mangetsu performs the hand seals slowly and focuses Raiton chakra into his feet. He then sends this energy through the ground as far away as possible and makes it climb up the cliff using high frequency waves of electricity to dislodge much of the earth making it fall down like an avalanche.
"See I didn't hurt anybody. Alright, advantages... You can turn somebody's doton against themselves I guess? Disadvantages... Hey where'd that cliff go, it disappeared! I was gonna practice on it. Oh well too bad, can't use the jutsu anymore."

You could use this lightning armor to destroy the prison, although it would deactivate after doing so. What makes this jutsu unique is that it's very fast to perform and use. Keep that in mind."
"Proceeding onward. The first one will have you raise your hand in front of you. By molding your Raiton chakra through it, your hand will start glowing yellow, which is conspicuous and flashy. You'll fire lightning bolts in a conical, horn-shape, very similar to previous lightning bolt techniques. I suppose this one's stronger than the D-rank ones... but otherwise relatively one-dimensional."
Aigis set up another set of targets for Mangetsu to hit.
Aigis then pulled out a sword from her equipment bag that she always brought with her to every training session. She unsheathed it and stabbed the ground in front of Mangetsu, allowing it to stay upward.
"Alright. Take that sword and channel your Raiton chakra through it, allowing it to act as a conduit for said chakra. It will increase the cutting power of the sword."
"The hard part here is to manipulate and exercise chakra control to allow the sword to levitate in front of you. Then, you'll apply the principles of clone creation to create two exact copies of this sword, bringing it to three swords total, that float and have shocking, cutting properties. You can then use hand gestures to control the trajectory and attacks of these swords, but bear in mind that these types of techniques require you to keep your focus on them, so you can't perform any other jutsus until you stop the swords or break your focus."
"Cut up these watermelons so we can share them."
