it's been up lately that lee has a chance against Sasuke (also the itachi wank threads) and yeas he seems like the kind of character with perfect counter to him but sasuke can be rather an underrated character sometimes and some of his feats may be overlooked.
let's observe the eight gates:
pros:
1- it gives the user speed above that of a JJ to the point it bends space
2- enough power to break madara's horn with a snigle punch without actually landing
cons:
1-Can't be used for long. when it ends the life of the user ends along with it.
2-user well constantly be in pain but judging that the user is already has a great pain tolerance from all that training this won't be a factor.
3-the user isn't as durable as a JJ and can't survive lethal hits.
4-the user's jutsus are limted to brute force attacks with nearly no tactics involved since the user dosen't have enough time to think or analyze the enemy after using it.
Sasuke seems in a disadvantage but I'll prove that sasuke would emerge victorious!
let's take a look about sasuke's stats
1-speed: near that of a JJ since he was able to chase down JJ madara who had a head start and bisect him and with his susanoo he becomes even more faster with wings like when he managed to slash a CT made of mountains to pieces in the blink of an eye or when he was fighting hand to hand with kaguya whilr naruto was talking to a dying obito or when he was equally fighting a senjutsu enhanced RM kurama avatar with his PS makes sasuke's speed combined with his sharingan and amentejikara enough to evade some of the eight gates hits
2-defense: with susanoo and deva path sasuke can protect himself from most of the attacks but susanoo can be questionable...can it really withstand gai/lee's attacks?
gai's attack was able to break madara's horn which sakura managed to do the same to kaguya's later and by that time a tired sakura should be alot e weaker than tsunade when she fought madara and that tsunade wasn't able to break through susanoo's ripcage leading me to believe that PS is more durable than JJ body so it should stand some solid hits
jutsu:
1-taijutsu: sasuke is both outclassed and outmatched in this one but with susanoo and the sharingan ability he should have enough power defend himself at best.
2-ninjutsu: sasuke's arsenal is his advantage over eight gate users with his raiton he can make some chidori senpon (lightning needles) to attack gai/lee combined with susanoo to make them even more effective also with enton he can shield himself and cover the battlefield in black flames that would force gai/lee on avoiding those since he's isn't durable and at any given moment sasuke can just cover himself in kagutsush black flames and use amenotejikara to swap with gai/lee and have him burn.
with deva path sasuke can use his PS as a CT core and hide inside a huge CT with susanoo under it as an extra layer of defense until the eight gates time runs out
3-genjutsu: gai/lee trained to fight without eye contact to avoid such genjutsu.....but genjutsu: rinnegan is a genjutsu from the rinnegan that does not need eye contact and only the rinnegan users can repel or undo the effects of this genjutsu so basically gai/lee would lose instantly the moment sasuke uses this genjutsu.
so in other words with genjutsu: rinnegan (commonly known as solo glance) would negg-diff eight gates.

yata GG-sasuke can get past that with amenotejikara and blitz itachi inside his own susanoo.
