Not all human beings are selfish and people can change, some have changed drastically, selfishness is a choice, we are all capable of being selfish and in most situations that urge to be selfish will be there, in the end it is not the temptation to be selfish but if we act upon that selfishness that counts^^
It's amazing how in denial are you! You shake your head at internet "resides" as you mention it yet you reside with the same people daily which makes me ask my self: you spend most of your time with them yet you cry about them being lowlifes

I like you. You seem like a nice person. Unfortunately, what you said isn't true. There is no such thing as genuine altruism. Everything we do in life, no matter what our intentions are, is for us. Even if I do something with someone else's feelings in mind, I am ultimately only doing it because it will make me feel good. No one ever does anything that they truly don't want to do. That's probably the most depressing realization I have had. I can never escape my own selfishness.
You have a fear of being selfish, that I understand but though it is rare, truly, true selflessness has and does happen.

I struggle to understand what you mean but I never called anyone a low life, I simply lament the lack of realization that seems to stem from a generation hooked on the internet when the internet should really spread the human condition, not create a desensitization to it.

He's right. There's no such thing as a truly 100% selfless act. If you think they have happened, can you list some examples?

Gosh, that is a tall order, my thought process was not working on a individual but those who have died to save strangers and things like that. But you know, if you really want to, you can find a negative in everything, just because you decide a negative is there, does not mean that it is or ever was.

People save strangers either for the recognition of being a hero or to avoid the guilt of knowing they could have did something, but didn't.

Just because you decide the positive is there, doesn't mean that it is or ever was.

But it goes both ways, you don't know that those are the reasons that person gave there life, you choose to see the negative, as much as you say I choose to see the positive, in truth neither of us know the reasoning

I am seeing both the positive and the negative. Someone saves someone, they are doing it because they know that's the right thing to do. However, because they know this is the right thing to do, they know that doing the opposite is wrong, and they'll feel guilt if they do what was wrong, so they do what's right to avoid that feeling of guilt. That makes acts like that neutral, aka, both selfish and selfless=not 100% selfless, as I said. This concept applies to all people at some point or another.

This one right? It's tragic really :( He didn't die immediately either.

NSFL maybe? It isn't really bloody or gory or anything...

Ouch, should have practiced technique, breh. The guy bent his knees too much; that kills the momentum.
