How Rusty is Naruto

In recent Boruto chapter Naruto actually said what're these sticks when Jigen hit him with that....The dude literally forgot about pein, I mean he himself had that stick in So6p mode how come he forget it.....Just how Rusty can a guy be

if i remember right, pein's injected chakra and naruto's erased things,so jigen's rod absorbing chakra highlights that it's a different jutsu

I know Kurama mentioned Naruto was rusty but the guy is "rusty" because of the scenario's he's put in sorta speak.

MoKinShiki in the exams! Protecting the village
Gaiden arc! Protecting kids
Delta! Protecting the kids
Jigen! He has to protect kids & not destroy the village

I think he's been put in uncomfortable situations making anything he does almost seem like a backfire from his actions to protect..

Yh it could be different but Naruto was acting like this whole thing was foreign to him...So that was kinda off ....You know considering the fact that he himself had one in So6p mode it's really really really weird he shouldn't be this rusty..

I was wondering that too but the old chakra rods stopped your chakra Jigen's absorbs chakra.
