He wouldn't be a genjutsu specialist the way he was, people don't realize that Itachi used genjutsu so much because he was a pacifist. If he wasn't then he would have specialized in dangerous ninjutsu techniques
You have a point but genjutsu can be used in sadistic ways.A ruthless Itachi would use it to break his opponent's will before killing them.

I still think he would've been as smart as he is now but he would be like Aizen from Bleach. He would toy with his opponent's mind before killing with genjutsu and would show the same tactics he did as a pacifist.

I mean, at a young age he decided to a pacifist because of the third ninja war, but if he instead decided to vent his anger by killing opponents, I feel like at the age he would focus on combat instead of reflection, as he did in the storyline. I think he would still be smart, but only battle smart like sasuke.

If it weren't for Itachi, Minato wouldn't have been revived and Sasuke would have been dead U_U

You dont think Orochimaru couldve done these things without Sasuke or Itachi? Especially since he had Kabuto? ***** please.

Itachi is strong BECAUSE hes a pacifist. He maintains his sanity and the safety of his family because hes not running around acting like Kisame. Why do you think they were paired up? He was a spy not a murderer. Hes quiet brilliant. Guys read the manga.

What does pacifism has to do with power? Those things are completely unrelated. Itachi is powerful as he is, if he was a power-hungery maniac (like in Sasuke's vision), he wouldn't be more powerful. He would just die a lot earlier.

No he can't since it was Sasuke who let me in the Naka Shrine or whatever you called it. How about you go read the manga.

Yeah, maybe but he was going to kill Obito anyways and Madara would have tried to get in the way and that would have made Naruto and Sasuke team up (like in the bonds movie :D) so yeah it would have went the same way.

I wouldn't say Itachi easily defeated his opponents. This is an exaggeration and you know it. He clearly was in no hurry to fight Jiraiya as he knew he wouldn't be able to win even with Kisame's help. Even though he held back against Sasuke even he admitted that Sasuke had become far stronger than he thought. And even as an Edo he informed Sasuke that he wouldn't be able to beat Kabuto without his help.

Let's address these threads with reason rather than fandom.

As far as how powerful Itachi could have been had he not been a pacifist the question in and of itself is irrelevant. Itachi's potential and his willingness to employ violence are such worlds apart I don't know how any of you think they topics in the same discussion. Rikudou Sennin was the most powerful being who ever lived and he was a pacifist. The only time he is known to have employed violence was in stopping the Juubi. So that should be clear enough to show that being passive in no way hinders ones power.

I should not have to point out something like that especially for a shonen title.
