How powerful is Uchiha Flame Formation?

Too op if you ask me. Obito summoned it like it was nothing and it blocked and hurt a freakin Bijuu like it was cheese.

However to answer your question you can't really compare the two.

The gates are used to suppress whereas the UFF is used for blocking/repelling

Not comparable, like said above they work in different ways. Though Uchiha Flame Formation is pretty powerful.
