How old is Naruto (series)?

How old is this series? I ask because people always complain that Naruto is copying (insert series here) as if Naruto is the youngest series.

Seriously, why is it that (insert series here) is never copying Naruto? Also, since when did any of these other series' invent a majority of the crap that people complain about?

In the one-shot, Naruto was half-demon/half-human and was supposed to find a way to unite animal demons and people. Kurama was his dad. Naruto also had the ability to shape-shift in that plot.

Then, Kishimoto thought that idea was bad, so he changed the plot to what it is now: about shinobi. So, he started the manga we have today in 1999 (15 years ago).

They aren't, but he isn't half demon.
It's just a facial characteristic that he has, it doesn't necessarily mean that he's a demon.
