im 24 and i enjoy anime i grew up on it like dragonballz and Pokemon and digimon was when i started getting into it from then all it grew on me and i love it. i still watch it because i enjoy it alot

+ I don't care what people think. If I enjoy doing something, I'm not going to stop just because it's not normal for someone else.

One piece isn't Necessarily for children, same case could be for dbz then, since at first that also looks childish, so I shouldn't watch this shit cause I'm 18, and a show being childish doesn't have a certain requirement which holds a necessity to be viewed only by children, heck I remember my dad used to watch loony toons with me (sounds funny?) and not just that I've come across quite a few who do. So pretty much it can be seen by anyone. one piece. it's targeted for all sorts of audiences, and if you see the show Doflamingo pimping b*tches and girls being sold and abused in OP is not what I call, childish.

You're still a kid if you think that what you watch determines your mentality or whatever. I'm 22 and I didn't even start watching anime or reading manga until I was 19. Before that, whenever my friends (and older brother) recommended some anime to me I just thought that it was stupid to watch something like that, especially at that age (Because I never really watched a Japanese anime or knew what they're about).

Of course, I watched some Arabic dubbed anime until I was ~10 years old but I think since then I stopped watching it at all and was only following TV shows and watching movies.

I'm very pleased that I kept an open mind and gave anime a shot because now I know how great it is. I'm pretty sure I won't stop watching/reading until I die and I don't give a crap what anyone else thinks.

I'm now 17. Also, asking why people still watch anime as 19+, they may be watching Seinen that is K-18. Also, Shōnen is technically for teenagers, it's okay to watch it below the age of 20.

I don't get your question, manga and anime were never actually targeted at kids, except Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh. Asking why you watch it as an pre-adult, is like asking why do you still drink energy drinks instead of coffee, although they were targeted for adults and not kids.

Just because kids do adult stuff doesn't mean they're not for adults anymore.​
