Sorry if this isn't well put together it's my first post.
The only known viable way to unlock MS is to kill the one closest to you, for Obito that was Rin, and in the Naruto Wiki Rin's cause of death is unknown, So I think somewhere down the road Obito killed Rin for some reason or another, and possibly the cause of him turning Heel was the grief that it brought him.
Just a Theory I'm still not 100% convinced Tobi is Obito.
