Doesn't work like that, SM senses chakra nature enegry is the same as Senjutsu chakra. There is no difference of chakra between Hashirama and his clones whatsoever.

I never said there was a difference in chakra, I was just stating that the wood clones are made from a person's cells being turned into plants, something stated straight from the databook.

With Sage Mode, Naruto has the ability to sense both chakra and the energy in nature,

That should mean that with Sage Mode, Naruto should be able to determine which clone is a plant, and which one is not, since plants are made from earth & water, both these components contain energy from nature.

This would make it easier for him to pick out the real Hashirama, since the real one would not be made from a plant.

But regardless, I think that this discussion will have to wait for another time until we see all of Hashirama's abilities and Naruto extending the time limit in Bijuu Mode.

Plants don't give off Natural Energy, its simply in the atmosphere and is drawn in to enter Sage Mode. It has nothing to do with plants and as clones give off the same exact chakra signature as the original.

Kurama said that the Juubi's power was made up of the energy from the earth, air, and water, and Naruto was able to sense that in Sage Mode because he was able to determine that all of that power from the Juubi was immense Natural energy.

If Naruto was able to sense all of that as Natural energy from the Juubi, why can't see sense the same thing from the Wood clones. Naruto was able to sense the White Zetsu in Kyuubi Mode because of their killing intent, that's something completely different.

Exactly, he needed to use Negative Emotions sensing to sense the Zetsu, SM Sensing didn't work so it won't work for sensing Hashirama in the mix of his clones. Anyway that's all I have to say.

He didn't bother because the Shinobi Alliance told him the chakra signatures are all the same so he knew that he needed Negative Emotion sensing, since they couldn't mask their negative emotions.
