Only by becoming stronger then you are when it starts can you defeat them and since hiruzen is a konaha shinobi if he gets stronger to beat himself so will the other version of him ending in stalemate/never ending battle even if he manages a RDS he still loses

So hiruzen's "copy" in the mirror would be really weak, and so, hiruzen would solo.
