how nagato activated rinnegan ?

nagato activated rinnegan when he was a child (he didn't meet him) moreover they say nagato is an uzumaki but we saw his parents (in his story when they were killed) weren't even shinobi so as child nagato

Nagato has red hair, like Karin and Kushina, they are full blooded Uzumaki. Not like Naruto who is half Uzumaki.
Also, Nagato is a distant relative of the senjus because uzumaki are relatives to senju
Nagato doe not have Uchiha DNA, he got the Eyes from Madara, who had Senju DNA by transplating Hashiramas DNA into himself. Therefore he activated the Rinnegan.

Why does it matter that Nagato's parents weren't shinobi? They were still uzumaki. Uzumaki is the clans family name, they don't have to be shinobi if they don't want to....I think you're confused

In the most recent chapter Hashirama/Tobirama Senju didnt know who Karin was. Tobirama sensed her chakra and learned she was an uzumaki right away.

whether nagato's parents is shinobi is not it's still debateable, but truth is that nagato family is a refuges from uzushiogakure (uzumaki clans village)
madara can sense his uzumaki type chakra, even when nagato yet to release his nin. so Madara Uchiha implanted his own eyes into Nagato, and Nagato didnt even notice he did it.

We don't even know if those were his real parents, or the events that were showed even actually happened as portrayed. I say this because to me it's obvious Madara put Nagato into a genjutsu.
