Kishimoto is usually vague when it comes to exact timelines; however, if you parallel the people who fought before Kaguya came with the samurai of the sengoku era, which Kishimoto tends to reference quite a bit in the series, in conjunction with the modern day shinobi using present day technology, you could hypothesize it ranges between four and six hundred years. On the other hand, if you parallel Hagoromo with historical religious figures such as Abraham, Moses, Siddhartha (the Buddha), Jesus or Muhammad, that would make him between two and four thousand years old. "A long time to wait" as the knight from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade would say lols.

I guess each near a century new reincarnations happen for Ashura and Indra, and Hagoromo grew tired from each time the same thing happens, which should be at least 7 or 6 times, and I prefer to say longer than that.

My guess is between 1.5k to 3k years.
By the way I don't think many poll options are a good thing.

More than a millennia since Fukasaku who is 800 years old thought that the Sage was a myth, Gamamura (The Elder Toad, who is more than a thousand years old according to the Databook) apparently knows the Sage personally.

Can you link to me where it states the ages of the toad sages?

It's in the 3rd Databook, look for the scans.

I just looked through two forums that translate the third databook. Most of it was about specific Shinobi, their personalities, expanded backstories, techniques, etc. I couldn't find a single thing about Fukasaku or Gamamaru.

it had to have been a LONG time if shinobi forgot their history.
