Lets say Minato didn't die the day Tobi invaded, how much stronger would he have gotten dying by old age instead of sacrifice.

Greatest ninja of all time?

A legend like Hashirama and Madra?

Or perhaps just as he is portrayed by people now?

It's all just speculation. His sacrifice glorifies the skill he already had. If he hadn't died, he may not have been held in as high regard later.

Well according to jirayia he was one of the most gifted shinobi who ever lived and to others he was a prodigy who only appeared once in generation.
