Yes it bothers me , ex : One piece I CAN'T TAKE IT SERIOUSLY
You shouldn't in the first place
Well...you are the exception though. You like Jojo's.
The very reason I made this thread is because a lot of people here from what I looked up were turned off on it because of its artstyle when things like One Punch Man and One Piece have proved how little a part it plays on the creation of a quality manga. I do wonder why....
Well, i didn't like OP until a gave it a try this summer. It was so much fun to read it and enjoy the dinamic of the drawings. Art is not just a beautiful drawing but a suggestive one. I don't find Oda sensei's art bad at all, just different.
I pretty much only read manga and I can accept many different art styles, be it more realistic or more "cartoonish", but what I dislike is when there are just too many noticeable errors in basic things like anatomy.
When the story is good enough I can ignore the style I dislike, especially since many artists tend to get better over time.
Agree with you.
OT, art is essential for a good manga, be it realistic and majestic like in Vagabond, or sketch like and with life force inside like in One Piece. In between are Naruto, Bleach, and almost all top mangas. If art is missing, a good story is crumbling. We all read manga here not because written books are boring but because the drawing brings to the reader a whole page of descripting feelings and situations in a blink of an eye and the perception can be different for each reader. And if you read it again you can see another perspective too. Is a way to say much more with less....
Looks like art made the ape human. Not work, hardship, natural disasters or other things. So we stick with art in any way is touching us.
