[Discussion] How Much Do You Value Blood Ties?

If I can't stand my own blood how would I stand my other ties?

Not very much. Family can be very deceptive as well, but feel obligated to hide it more due to blood relations.

For me personally, blood makes us relatives, not family.

I am adopted and my adoptive parents are my parents, duh.
So blood does not matter much to me, but the ties.

Speaking of family, I live with my parents and my sibilings because they are family, but if I could choose, would not want to live with futile people like them.
I get along well with some cousins, and others I have a cordial relationship but do not have much to talk about.

I think family is not all, theres others ties that are so important.
About the unknown cousin, I would not care much. But he was a nice person, I would try to connect with. Like in any situation where i know an interesting person, regardless of family ties.

Mmm, if they weren't forced onto me I wouldn't be seeing them much. lol
I don't value blood ties past the family I reside in, aka I don't automatically
value cousins and support them baseless-ly.

Though it is without a doubt something I have a bit of value for;
or else I wouldn't have been able to get a bit deeper into my cousins'
personalities, and find the ones I like.

The people I love have a place in my heart not because of any blood relations, but because they earned it. Consanguinity alone is not enough for me to identify someone as a loved one. Still, I try to be respectful, kind and compassionate to everyone I encounter.

I view them as irrelevant, if i chose to have to relations to any of my blood relatives itS not because of out blood ties, but it's because i like them and the person they are.

I would take my friends over blood relatives any day every day.

I chose my friends because of who they are, I was just born in to my family.

I care for them to a certain degree. If that situation were to occur, I'd be happy because I enjoy meeting new people, not because I value family ties so much.

Blood ties aren't that important. You don't need to be blood to be family so I don't care about someone just because they're blood but if they're blood then I will care for them a little bit more than I would otherwise assuming they're not *******s about it in which case they can go to hell. The only blood ties I value is direct blood ties like direct siblings or direct cousin.
