How much do you spend on clothes a month?

Serious question. I normally spend anywhere from $600-$700 a month and this includes shoes by the way which I find to be quite reasonable but others may beg to differ.

You are extremely overprivileged, ridiculously unthrifty, or both. I don't know what I spend on clothing every month because I only buy clothing when I need it, and I make my clothing last. Given that the median household income in the US is only about $51K in , you spend about 7% of that on clothes... by yourself. That's ridiculous.

My mum is a doctor and my dad is an aircraft technician. And I'm Australian not American so those figures don't apply to me. Plus I have a job.

The mean Australian household income is ~$44,000 Australian. You spend almost 18% of one of your country's average incomes on clothes. I don't care if your parents are wealthy and you have a job. That's still incredibly wasteful.

Laugh at the reactions of people who aren't in the fortunate position you are? You're essentially saying that you're flaunting your wealth with the aim of shocking people with your exuberant spending. That isn't funny.

Pretty much nailed it.

If you have excess money, you should consider using it to help those in need. If you choose not to, that's your decision to make. However, wasting your resources and ostentatiously bragging about it is something by which I cannot abide. You, sir, are an *******.

^ pretty much this

Also if you took most of that money and invested it from now till you retire you could retire in luxury.

The last time I got some brand new clothes was around 4 months ago, my parents bought it since I'm still fifteen so I don't know how much but probably under 50-60 Euro, and later they talked to me about how they bargained at the shop.

Inb4 "They're just cheap" - They don't like to splash money like money grows on trees or like the economy will always stay the same.

So? My dad's a lawyer and my mom-like dad is a surgeon but they don't spend like crazy on clothes, even their own clothes. That's just insane, man.

I don't buy clothes every month but in a year I'd say....maybe $100, and that's a stretch. Yeah I wear my shit til it falls off.

I assume most of this clothing is made from the hide or fur of endangered animals and sewn together by orphan children in sweatshops?

I only buy when I need, and like Panda said I make it last, and still if I waste more than 100euros in clothes I feel it's too much.

Pretty ridiculous when people spend money on clothes each month...I gotta say i feel pretty proud of myself still wearing clothes from 2 years ago and still fit and look semi new...I've gotten a couple of shirts here and there but it's all good. :D Save you're money.

I don't buy clothes every month. Most of the time I wear my same graphic tees over and over for comfort. I only buy clothes if I'm going somewhere special, in which case I would buy for that event.

But what you said is ridiculous. The most I spend on clothes in one shopping trip is $150. After that I feel bad for wasting money and don't go shopping for a long time. Out of curiosity, where exactly do you fit all the clothes you buy?
