how much chances does itachi stand against nagato?

Withough Izanami, I'd say 40%, and with Izanami 50%. We do not know yet how the Rinnengan reacts with genjutsu, but I don't think it makes the user invulnerabe, at least not totally. Except for that, it highly depends on the range they are standing from each other. At long range, Nagato wins by 90%. At mid range and close range, Itachi has a hich advantage, that balances things a bit, the totsuga sword. Also, I belive Susano can defend (a little) against shinra and tsubaku, and I would not recomend Nagato to go close to Susano and try to absorb it with Preta path, as it would only get him closer to the totsuga sword's edge... So, IMO it's 50-50...

It will surely be almost an equal match.

If the fight will occur in their state in Shippuden, with Itachi slowly dying from a disease, and Nagato basically paralyzed and using the 6 paths, then it will surely be an awesome match, but will end with Itachi winning. Naruto was able to hold his own against the 6 paths, Itachi can surely do the same...

It's a different story though if they will be fighting in their prime, both in excellent health and all...

Nagato might fight on his own now, without the use of the 6 paths/orange haired zombies. It will be an awesome fight I'm sure. Nagato has more chakra pool and arsenal in ninjutsu, but Itachi is more intelligent to the point that he always has a way out, not to mention he also has a lot of OP techs under his sleeve. His Susanoo is also stated to be invincible, with SOTotsuka and Mirror at hand.


Both has a great chance of winning. I say Itachi has 50% chance

it is very slim indeed. One thing is that whether itachi would realise soon enough the strategy behind the six pains. If he gets the whole picture in time then I believe that he would have some chance.

One of the key elements of this fight is the jutsu the nagato used against naruto when he created a planet. . . if itachi finds a way out of the gravitational pull then he'll probably have the right capabilities to win the match.

He may have figured out the weakness, but the only countered it because Bee and Naruto helped, so Itachi did not beat Nagato himself.
