I get this one too. But for a side character it's a little easier to ignore those things. Those threads aren't exactly plentiful either. For the main characters, there is more invested I think on both sides. Not to say your level of appreciation for Kisame is below mine or NxM's love for Naruto, but the discussions get more heated.

Ahh. That is precisely the issue. A fanboy/fangirl will never get to that conclusion. Both sides need to be willing to hear an argument and debate with the hopes of coming to an understanding for that to work.

When one side has shut down and refuses to engage in that level of discussion it becomes impossible. You give them way too much credit, my friend. They certainly don't deserve it.

But that's the thing;

They're not trying to understand, they are WUMing and by responding, you are letting them think they are of any significant importance.

This is why I ignore Macho and Pravin5. Both need to seriously grow up.
