How many chapters is kishi ahead in?

I think I once read the average mangake is about 3-4 mangachapters ahead with drawing compared to the one that comes out that week in shonen jump. So i'd think Kishi is only at 648 or so max

He has to be ahead of the schedule so i guess about 2-3 chapters ahead.

Yes, but he hasn't planned out how he is going to get to that set ending.

OP: I would say he's 10 chapters ahead with outlines and dialouge planned out for many chapters after those ten. It would be unrealistic if he was writing a chapter the week it came out. How would it go through editing, and then be mass produced into a magazine if he handed in the chapter the very week they were planning to publish it? He and his assistants work every week but not on the chapter being published that week

Four or Five ahead sounds about right. But he has all of this planned out. For all of the people saying, he's making it up as he goes; it doesn't work that way. That'd be like selling a chapter of a book every week without the ending completely done.

The publisher needs to have the manuscript on a friday two weeks before the magazine comes out. So if 643 comes out in Monday's issue, then he had to have turned it in by the 19th of July, 644 on the 9th of this month, took last week off for the holiday, and would be working on 645 starting monday. That would just be for the final manuscript, and if he turned in each manuscript the day it's due, he would have to be at least as far as 645.
