I thought about it since i read 626 and i don't see any plots xD
In the earlier chapters we saw Hashiramas face on Edo Madara's chest, just where he got stabbed. that must be how he got the senju dna. We saw Madara looking up at the moon, maybe he could see something? Maybe his ems was so experienced he could sense that the juubi was sealed in the moon? When he got stabbed he must have been able to create some zetsus, they healed him and went to hiding so he could fully recover. he suddenly awakens rinnegan and Since hes an uchiha he don't have the stamina like the uzumakis do, so he must have gotten really weak and attached himself to the mazou and stayed there till he got old and met Obito and then he unplugged himself from the mazou so he could die since he planned everything out with Obito.
The reason he can control the rinnegan now is because he is an edo and have infinite stamina xD
