How Madara actually got some of Hashirama's DNA

It's stated he stole some in the final fight, but that's not what happened. Madara got ruined by hashirama, to the point where he was going to die. Hashirama gave him some of his power in order to heal Madara (as medical ninjutsu had yet to be invented). Madara probably didn't even know about the prerequisites for the rinnegon at the time. Anyway, Madara either escapes or Hashirama lets him go.

I believe it was Hashi who put it in Madaras wound. From what we've seen of Madara in his childhood, I think he would be too proud to steal his rivals power.

I think it's likely a combination of the two, after madara heals, he then frantically tries to escape and hashirama doesn't try and stop him.
