I think that people overrate this jutsu. Sure Izanagi is impressiv, but not like people actually think. That's why i'll try to explain how this jutsu really works, and will take Danzo as an example.

- Like Karin says here, Danzo can keep up his Izanagi only during one minute. After that minute, his Izanagi disappears and his eye closes alone:

- That means that when Danzo releases Izanagi, he is forced to attack during that time so that he could use his invincibilities time efficiently. So, that means also that if during the time Izanagi is activated, he does nothing or his opponent actually manage to survive or escape from him, he will lose his eye and Izanagi for nothing also.

- So during a fight when he uses Izanagi all along one after another(like during his fight against Sasuke for example), he could only maintain his Izanagi during almost 10minutes since he has 10sharingans

So at the end, Danzo is the one who must be skill enough to know how and when to use Izanagi and attack quickly after that. The opponent is not forced to kill him 10times like some people always say. It's Danzo the one who is forced to kill his opponent during that time.

PS: Now, it seems that the time you use Izanagi is not always the same, depending on the user, since Tobi managed to maintain his Izanagi against Konan during 5minutes at least or more.

Maybe i've forgotten some things, but at least i gave the most important part i've understood about this jutsu. :)

The title implies that there has been a lack of explanation in the Manga/Anime which is false. It was explained properly.

You are totally right man. Actually it is ability of a person that how effectively he uses izanagi(or a jutsu) you can take this as an example of when sasuke was little he tried to perform fireball jutsu but his fireball was not like a teenager itachi(the difference in the ball sizes because of the difference in efficiency ).
This also explains that danzo is less efficient in performing izanagi than tobi:

Sharing also give abilitie to read opponent movement it also gives alittle advantage when to use izanagi plus your opponent dont know abt izanagi he wil be under trouble and izanagi requires only requires few hand seals so its usefull in saving ur life so idont think its overated even uchiha elder comes up with a another forbidden tech to keep izanagi user in check so its not overated

I think (or thought) this was known already, however, you saying, "The opponent is not forced to kill him 10times like some people always say. It's Danzo the one who is forced to kill his opponent during that time" could be just your opinion. It happens in Vs. Threads, but in an actual battle when "the Opponent is force to kill him" could be the case in some scenarios. I am not sure, but I agree to disagree, I guess.

Ofc in an actual battle, you will see them trying to attack Danzo, but i'm saying that "when Izanagi is activated, Danzo is the one who is forced to attack since even if you don't attack, he is the one who will lose his Izanagi for nothing"
