How is this still misconstrued?

I don't get how people think they're not talking about Jiraiya. It's quite obvious in my opinion. I'm going to breakdown how I think they're talking and you can argue against me or whatever.

In the first two panels, they're talking about Jiraiya.

When Kisame says, "It was great finally finding him at the ramen shop, but..." That is the transition in the sentence. They are talking about Naruto in that one instance, and that instance alone.

When he continues, "His babysitter was one of the three great shinobi of Konoha Legend. With him as our enemy, even the titles of Konoha's Uchiha Clan and Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the mist pale in comparison..." he is talking about Jiraiya. Any implication of them talking about Kurama is easily thrown out the window because Kisame says, 'him'. Kurama is not, nor was he even part of the conversation.

The mere fact that Itachi continues the conversation by saying, "Even the strongest heroes have their weaknesses..." should prove that they're talking about Jiraiya. Considering not 5 chapters later, we see Jiraiya being led off by a woman; literally Jiraiya's only weakness outside of combat.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but please provide proof of some sort.

Nope, they were talking about Jiraiya. But Itachi merely went along with it in order to force Kisame to retreat as well so Itachi wouldn't be forced to slaughter everyone in his path, including Jiraiya. Notice the part where he says, "even if anyone comes to help, the outcome will be the same"? That's quite obvious enough that he was trying to say that even if Kisame helped it wouldn't matter, which would force him to comply with their retreat, which is precisely what Itachi wanted in order to save Naruto.

You're wrong. They are speaking about Jiraiya the entire time except when speaking about the ramen shop. Itachi was bluffing. There. Everyone wins.

I'll bring it up if I damn well please!

But no, I just saw someone say he wasn't referring to Jiraiya so I had to rant about it, even just a little.

The offender:

It's redundant to use Databook scores as an argument to say that Itachi and Jiraiya are counter-parts. The Databook gives both Itachi and Orochimaru a '5' for Genjutsu yet it is rather clear who is the more adept user. Everything else you wrote on the issue is fabricated from your own speculation. What is factual is that Itachi became stronger than all forms of Jiraiya the moment he awakened his Mangekyō powers which would be between the age's of 11-13. The comparison made by Itachi in this [ ] Scan is referring to the Naruto, not Jiraiya; the 'baby-sitter'. Orochimaru was to be chosen Yondaime prior to Namikaze (denoting that he possessed all the qualities of a Hokage) if it wasn't for his peculiar behavior and methods while Jiraiya only became a consideration after the Death of Hiruzen. The entire 'feats' section isn't a comparison of abilities but a biased list of ways the character you favor could potentially beat the other and further conjecture. Making matter's worst your conclusion isn't a certainty; a contradiction to the implication, which happens to be false as well as you haven't proven anything.

Your thread quality has phenomenally diminished, Bogard.

Okay, who was stupid enough to believe that they weren't talking bout Jiraiya??? .... Anime (Canonically scripted) AND this scan SPECIFICALLY pointed to their conversation to Jiraiya being the subject....

Kisame himself could've easily killed Naruto. How is the Tailless Tailed Beast who forced Killer Bee into transforming into his Six Tailed Jinchuuriki state lose against a 13 year old who's body could barely handle 1 Tail at the time?

Man the things itachi fans come up with, When Kisame says "..with him as our enemy even the titles..."

The very next line itachi says "..even the strongest heroes have their weakness.."

and what does he do? he uses genjutsu on a woman to draw away jiraiya, whose weakness is women, the kyuubi or jiraiya? lmfao

It's obvious they are talking about Jiraiya.

He even states Jiraiya has a weakness (woman, the tool he used to defeat Jiraiya).

Everyone know they're talking about jiraiya. Itachi fans just don't wanna admit it cause itachi admitting he'd lose or stalemate turns them off

That sure seems like alot of specation there guy.

But yea they were obv talking about jiraiya, however the sentence structure is a little weird so i can see where the confusion comes from.
