How is There a Part 3...?

Wth could possibly merit a Part 3? I thought the movie was just going to be an epilogue, which is fine... but apparently it "connects to the next generation" ...

This is bittersweet. On one hand, I'm definitely not ready to be done with Naruto. But on the other, this needs to be the ending. This is what the story has been building up to since the beginning; it's addressing the origin of all the problems in the shinobi world... the Uchiha hatred, the nature of chakra, the Hidden Village system, the bijuus, Naruto's past lives,the God of Shinobi and the Rabbit Goddess... this is it, folks. This is Neo at the Source, or Frodo and Sam at Mount Doom, Harry vs. Voldemort, etc.

After this, the only interesting thing will be how Naruto makes changes to the shinobi system, but that can be covered in a movie. I'm guessing that if there's a whole new "Part" then there'll be a new main antagonist... who the hell can be a greater antagonist than a someone with all the chakra in the world...? Sasuke? Taken over by Orochimaru? Hamura? What do you guys think?

I have no doubt he'll be a big part, and Naruto might even be his sensei. But still... there's no epic evil to face off anymore. And by epic I mean "encompassing all the elements of the series and representing the source of everything that has gone wrong in the world"

It may be related to where Kaguya came from, why she came, who she wanted to fight that even posed a danger for her......maybe Naruto will fight THEM ...etc.

Exactly, it would be impossible to top this villain. So if the manga tried to continue with Konohamaru's team who would end up as the main villain?

Where could they take the story that would make it original and not seem like a rehash of what we've already read? Would the story follow the reorganizing of the ninja world where they don't mold chakra, the tailed beasts no longer exist? How would a manga about ninjas during peace time be interesting without fighting? What would be the point?

The announcement was about the movie. I think it is a mistake to think it has anything to do with the manga. It could, but until we know more it is all speculation. There may be some cannon elements in it, but the Naruto movies were always stand alone projects with their own time line and story.

I'm ready for the story to end. All good things must come to an end.
