How is Shakespeare good?

I have no f*cking idea in all honesty. His plots are retarded and redundant. He portrays characters with mental disorders way ahead of his time's understanding but other than that i see nothing worthwhile in his literature. Its probably more just me though, i cannot stand to read plays. Theyre meant to be watched not read
