How is Nagato unaffected by genjutsu?

then why everyone says that Rinnegan users are unaffected by genjutsu

only taijutsu and sage are only affects on Rinnegan users.... why?

people think rinnegan users are resistant to genjutsu as it's an evolution of sharingan, the doujutsu which specializes in genjutsu respectively as well as it giving the ability to apparently break any and all genjutsu (false, as that only applies to ocular). Nagato however isnt the true wielder of the rinnegan and instead of going through the evolution process he was simply given them. in any case frog song completely shuts the brain down and there is nothing one can do once its been executed unless someone is there to break them out (a clone or whatever)

Only retards will say that. Genjutsu affects on any one no matter what dou-jutsu one has. The mastery is in dispelling or countering the technique. Indeed itachi along with shisui are awesome genjutsu masters unlike other characters, but nagato has also shown little mastery on genjutsu by dispelling the toads sage mode genjutsu.

Greater ocular power doesn't mean anything by itself anyway. The Mangekyou has greater ocular power than the 3T, but it doesn't automatically make it immune to genjutsu.

The Rinnegan is totally different to the Sharingan. The former gives the user access to a set of abilities, whereas the normal Sharingan gives foresight and enhanced perception. People need to remember that the Sharingan isn't a watered-down Rinnegan, but a mutation that derives from it. And a mutation is a change.

It's not that bright to say that just because one has rinnegan, then they are not affected by any type of genjutsu formulated by a sharingan. It's not proven that it doesn't work, and it will more than likely never be. Frog song harms Nagato. Tsukiyomi and Kotoamatsukami are even higher level genjutsu and would 100% affect Nagato.

The claim that having greater ocular power as in rinnegan>sharingan makes you immune to visual genjutsu was actually already disproven now that I think about it. Zetsu stated that Sasuke w/ only 3-tomoe sharingan could attempt and possibly genjutsu Itachi and his Mangekyo sharingan, even though it would be unlikely. Shisui had the most powerful genjutsu Kotoamatsukami (which Itachi was later in possession of) and Itachi was the best genjutsu user in the manga. Frog Song is below Kotoamatsukami, considering that Kotoamatsukami was stated to be the ultimate one, because the victim doesn't even know that it took effect on them. Also, Tsukiyomi seems to be just as powerful, the only way it is under Kotoamatsukami in terms of ability is that obviously the victim knows that they are in a genjutsu. So yes, Nagato is affected by Frog Song, Tsukiyomi, and Kotoamatsukami. If he is caught in the latter two, it wouldn't end well for him.

Frog gen isnt a hood judge of gen being ineffective against him. It's being performed by 2 perfect toad sages so it's really powerful.

Everyone's affected by gen it's just that dojutsu's help dojutsu users break out a lot easier.

No. Magen: Gama Rinshō only caught Nagatos puppets and disturbed their flow of chakra. That's why Nagato coudn't control them with Kokushin anymore.
