Kashin beats him up, kills him, then takes the seal. There will be a timeskip, so Kara must exist inbetween, BUT Kashin also must, thus Kashin cannot die. Jigen himself has given NO reasons for Kawaki to oppose Shinobi, but Kashin can change that if he becomes the head. Perhaps it won't just be Kashin's words to turn Kawaki, but the thought of Kashin's jutsu set too or maybe Kashin's true allegiance being to a village or something.
