When a heroine is bad enough to consider being replaced by a side character, and ends up losing 50% of her fanbase over which man she opened her legs for and another large chunk over said man ditching her as, well, she's definitely in deep shit. Not to mention all the other crap her character's been dragged through.

Don't go comparing NH to SS. NH has had nothing but positive development in their relationship, a movie about their love, wedding scenes, and a family colour spread.

NH were shown together in that Family colour spread. Anyways, that's not the point. The point is Sakura's relationship is so unorthodox with Sasuke that even Salad questions it, her own supposed child.

Like who? I genuinely care to hear who you think fits that category.

OT: I have nothing relevant to add, but this way of thinking is flawed anyway. Itachi is by far one of the most influential characters in the manga, did more in the War Arc than the K11 did in their entire lifetime, surpasses another main character in relevance - Kakashi, and Sakura was never really focused on anyway. The concept of comparing Itachi and Sakura leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Itachi has stayed more relevant than Sakura despite being a side character, and even in the grave Itachi is still more relevant than Sakura. I mean Kishimoto even replaced Sakura with Itachi, next to Naruto/Sasuke:
