Wait, you guys are rearing off-topic. Tell me, how does Hiruzen beat Tsunade? Just wondering.
The outcome wouldn't have changed.
It was stated that Hiruzen was the strongest of the Gokage at his time of death, but tell me this: how would he be able to outlast one of the few perfect Jinchuuriki, the Yondaime Mizukage? How would he have been able to even get close to the Yondaime Kazekage? How would he have been able to touch the Sandaime Tsuchikage? How would he be able to react to the Yondaime Raikage's speed? The fact is, Hiruzen claimed that no one in the village could take Part 1 Orochimaru, including himself. Now, that contradicts the hype that claims him as the strongest of the Gokage (the hype didn't make sense in the first place), because there are those in the Gokage who would have been able to take Part 1 Orochimaru. In fact, this hype is invalidated because none of the Gokage were introduced bar the Yondaime Kazekage and his powers weren't even expanded upon at that point in time (and they weren't for how many years? I do believe those chapters came out in 2002).
The Databook, even besides this point, further implies Hiruzen was holding back against Orochimaru even to the end because of his extreme love for his student.
Orochimaru was only in desperate need of a body after the fight in which he took that one ninja's body who defeated the rest of the Otogakure ninja in a battle. He wasn't in need of one at the time for he wasn't in the same agonizing pain he was in the time after the fight. It was also stated that Hiruzen was the strongest of the Gokage, if Hiruzen couldn't stop Orochimaru neither could Part I Ohnoki.
The outcome wouldn't have changed.
