Serious question, i know the manga/anime elaborates with the time it takes to use Kamui, so we the readers can see it working, but is Kamui supposed to be instant? Like instant instant? Both Kakashi's and Obito's?

Kamui is near instant. Obito at 14 years old almost kept up with FTG.

Kakashi has shown some good feats as well.

Kakashi's moves faster than Obito's sharingan can see and faster than a Susano'o arrow (or 2. It's unclear to me.)

Obito has hype that he could absorb faster than Minato could react to, and can go intangible even against opponents such as Ay and BM Naruto.

Obito's is fast, and Kakashi's too is becoming faster, compared to his fight again Deidara, but it won't say it instant but close enough

I just remember Obito saying to Minato "this time i will warp you the instant i touch you" and he was almost right, thanks to Minatos Thunder God he escaped, but that Kamui was DAMN FAST! No one except Minato would have escaped that. Maybe Kakashis will become as instant in the future?

Obito commented that after minato escaped. Later minato confirms that the first to land their hit will win the match, thus proving (to me at least, many people call me out on this yet bring forth no evidence to the contrary) that Obito could have warped Minato before Minato could FTG out as he previously had.

That coupled with his 18+ year experience gain by part II makes me believe MS Obito is #1 in 1v1 fights, yet people always place Minato above MS Obito.

Obito: Near instant.
Kakashi: Can be close to Obito's, seems size dependant.

If I were to make an educated guess, I'd say it takes between 0.3 and 0.8 seconds overall. A fast Kamui from Obito was countered by FTG initiated by Minato, his reaction times aren't spectacular so I'd say it took around 0.3 seconds for him to react and 0.05 seconds extra to initiate the teleportation.

Kakashi reacted to, and warped a Susano'o arrow which can cover a small distance quite quickly - taking into account that the size of the Kamui wouldn't need to be large and that Danzo had enough time to let the Senju DNA manifest into a tree whilst the arrow was mid-transit, you could say Kakashi managed to Kamui it in around 0.8 seconds.

He might of beat him simply on the fact that Obito didn't know he was tagged for life with Minato's seal.

In theory Obito wins. In practice Minato wins.

Depends entirely on manga knowledge as well. With knowledge? Minato. Without? Obito.

Wouldn't say it's instant. When they are warped in, you can watch the process. It's not instant but you can see it. Now Goku using instant transmission is instant.
