How Hyuuga clan expand?

I still have a problem to understand it.

Hyuuga never been said as a watered down Otsutsuki or blood related, be it in DB or Wiki or Manga. I once did a searching and I found in one site(no longer remember the site) it said Hamura passed down his eyes to Hyuuga clan's leader at that time. Sounds like a gift/a giving and not like a blood inheritance.

If that true, the first wielder of Byakugan in this case the clan leader need to find a woman in his own clan (that sure doesnt have a Byakugan eyes) to breed a future Byakugan generation but how Hyuuga in this day born with straight Byakugan eyes if before this they never had that eyes(the first generation).

A breeding/procreation between Non-Byakugan user and a Byakugan user to produce Byakugan user exist. Naruto and Hinata is the example. But as we can see Himawari born with Blue eyes before she activated her Byakugan later on, so no straight Byakugan out from the womb.

So how past and current Hyuugas born into this world with straight Byakugan and not other eyes first.

If Byakugan came from Ootsutsuki and it did, Hyuuga somehow branched from the ancestral bloodline of Ootsutsuki some certain time in the past. those with the "Hyuuga mutation" banded and formed a clan. Byakugan might be mitochondrial mutated and can be passed from mother to offspring. As seen from Kaguya to Hago and Hamura, or y chromosomal like father to son, either way, mutation and forming of subclans can be observed only after a number of decades or so.

Maybe modern day Hyuugas kept their bloodline pure and resorted to incest or marriage inside their clan. Then again, maybe we are reading too much into it.

I don't see it as incest I see it more like keeping it within the race because each Clan is basically the own race with their own special skills and talent they have learned over time

Hamura re-built the Otsutsuki clan on earth while Hagoromo decided to only have two children. After Hago chose his successors and sealed the Gedo to the moon, the brothers agreed that Hamura would watch over the statue.


So Hamura left with his newly built clan. But before leaving, certain descendants stayed behind in order to preserve the Byakugan, those descendants ended up being the Hyuga.


I guess incest was practiced because Hamura used multiple women to build the clan in such a short time, so in a way his descendants weren't fully related when they started the practice.

Edit : I don't think incest was practiced, they most likely married normal people but excluded those people from any Hyuga ceremony hence why we never see them.


Also let's not forget that Hamura had a stronger Yin affinity than Hagoromo so his descendants all being born with dojutsu makes sense unlike Uchiha who descent from someone that was Yang dominant.
